Chapter 4

I woke up ready for school this morning. I threw on my clothes that I had just picked out and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I grabbed my phone and my purse from off my bed.

I peeked into my sister room to see her still asleep so I went in and tried to wake her up. I kept shaking her causing her to groan "get up" I yelled I'm her ear. "I will in 5 more minutes" she said flipping over "no then you'll be late for school" I said shaking her again. I pulled the cover off of her and pulled her onto the floor "I'm not playing get up" I said. She jumped up "happy now" she said rolling her eyes and going to her bathroom I smiled and put her cover back on her bed

I walked downstairs to see no one in sight so I guess my parents were still sleep, so I made me and Brittany some pancakes, as I was turning off the stove Brittany was walking down the stairs. We ate our food and washed out our dishes and headed out in our separate cars.

I pulled up to school and went to my school locker I got my books and was walking to class when I saw Monae and Jay walking together. I walked towards her and she looked up at me "hey" she said softly. I looked back and forth between them two in confusion, she saw the look on my face "I'll tell you everything at lunch" I nodded and walked off.

I went into class and took my seat and got ready for Mr. Miller to teach class. Class was boring until these two girls Ashanti and Erica started arguing "you a hoe you fucked like every nigga in this school" Ashanti said Erica humped her shoulder "including your nigga" she said with a smirk everybody in class was laughing when Ashanti jumped on Erica punching her all in her face until Erica flipped Ashanti over and started grabbing her hair punching her in the face and dragging her.

Mr.Miller came back into the room and dropped his coffee when he saw what was going on he ran over to the girls to break them up when Ashanti punched him in the nose instead of Erica. Blood was dripping down his face and he got mad he grabbed Erica and slammed her on the ground and pushing Ashanti on the floor. Everybody eyes grew wide and gasped.

He escorted both girls out the classroom and called in a janitor to clean up the mess and then the bell rung.

The bell for lunch had rung sending some kids running out the building. I walked by my locker to wait for Monae like I did everyday. But she didn't show up so I walked to lunch by myself. I got my lunch tray and went to sit down at the table we sat at everyday "Monae why you didn't meet me at our lockers" I said when I sat down "because I found out why Jay broke up with me it was more to it and he really needs me right now I'm sorry" she said with a apologetic look "whatever just tell me what happened" I said taking a bite of my food.

"I was already accusing Jay of cheating since he done it before, even though he told me it would be his last time and he was extremely sorry and nothing like that would ever happen but I still accused him of cheating of how distant he's been and how his attitude changed towards me" I nodded for her to continue. "well he's been acting like that because his mother died the other day"I could hear her voice cracking talking about it because she loved Jay mother like her very own mother.

I sighed "where is Jay now" I asked worried. "He went to the bathroom" I nodded as I began to eat the rest of my food I saw Jay come back and I left them some time to talk while I was on my phone.

I was in 8th period talking to my friend Sharon "so are you going to the basket ball game tonight" she said "I wanted to but I don't have no one to go with" I said back.

"You can go with me and Chase" she said happily "and be third wheel? No thank you" I said in a laugh making her laugh "why you not going with Monae" she asked "because she is having some problems I might just stay after school and come alone and maybe I'll find someone" I said smiling she laughed and turned in her seat "mhm you know you ain't looking for nobody" I laughed to.

The basketball game was getting ready to start and people was coming I looked back down at my phone since it wasn't many people here and the basketball players where still warming up.

2nd quarter was over and it was half time people were getting up and moving around and our school was down by 7 points. I looked to my side when I felt a tap on my shoulder I looked and saw Michael.

"Wassup" he said "hey" I said with a smile "can I sit next to you" "um sure" I said being a little hesitant at first. He took a a seat next to me and we just started talking and laughing. " the other day when we was at the mall eating why did you get up and leave like that" I asked not sure of what his answer would be. "It was something a little personal and I promise it had nothing to do with you if that's what you was thinking I know that it was really rude to walk out like that and I apologize" I shook my head understanding "okay I understand".

He looked at me "really cause I don't want you worried about me" I pushed his shoulder in a playful way "boy aint nobody worried about you" I said laughing. He gave me a stale face "girl you must don't know cause I'm on everybody mind" I playfully rolled my eyes "boy whatever" I said and we both started watching the basketball game again.

The game was over and our school won by 4 points. I was getting ready to leave when Michael called my name I turned around giving him my attention "what" "I was wanting to know if you wanted to hang this weekend me and my friends are going to the water park and you can bring some of your friends" I smiled "I'll think about it" I said turning around to walk away when he pulled me back "Bruh quit playing yes or no" he said holding me one hand on my arm and the other on my waist. I looked down at his hand and he quickly let go of me. I laughed and shook my head "I'll come and invite my friend just text me and let me know where" he nodded "ok" and I left out the gym smiling once I realized I was smiling do hard I quickly stopped "what am I doing" I said to myself. Whatever I was doing I hoped it turned out for the better.

I drove home only to be getting yelled at by my father when I walked in the house "why are you home so late" "mama knew where I was at" I said trying not to have a conversation with him. "But you didn't tell me where you was at" "I thought mama would have told you since she tells you everything else" I said going up the stairs to my room. I fell down on the bed exhausted I looked at the time to see it was actually a little late for me to be coming home but I didn't care.
