Chapter six

The next few days weren't eventful. Ivy doing her usual lacrosse stuff and Bella doing... well Bella stuff. She has a theory that the Cullens are vampires. When Bella told Ivy she straight up laughed in her face.

Friday rolled around and Bella went shopping with her friends after school while Ivy did homework. Alice was sitting in her room reading a book. This is their second hangout after they became friends. Their first being at the nail salon together. Their bond was growing stronger each day. Ivy loved Alice and Alice loved Ivy. Soon enough the two would be inseparable.

Ivy snapped back into reality when she heard Alice gasp. She looked over at Alice with a concerned and scared look on her face.

"What is it? What's wrong," Ivy asked standing up and rushing towards her best friend.

"Edward just texted me. It's about Bella. We need to go see her right now," Alice lied.

Ivy didn't even think twice before she grabbed her keys and ran out the door. Her protective sister mode kicked in. Alice was right behind her when she ran out the door and got in her car. Alice told her where to go and drove towards the center of town. It was dead silent during the drive until Alice spoke up.

"Edward just texted me. They're at Bella Italia," she said.

"That's ironic," Ivy said with a small chuckle.

She pulled into a parking spot before she got out of the car. Alice and she walked into her restaurant and walked around to find them. After a quick scan, she saw her sister and walked over there.

"Bells what happened? Alice told me Edward texted her that you were in trouble," Ivy said sitting down with Alice next to her.

"It's no big deal really. Just some guys being disrespectful," Bella said.

"They were disgusting," Edward said angrily.

"Who was it? I'll find them myself and rip their dicks off," Ivy said grabbing Bella's hand gently.

"No. Leave it. They'll get their karma later," Alice said gently touching Ivy's arm.

"Do you want anything to eat," Edward asked Ivy.

"No thank you. I ate before I came. Thank you though," Ivy said giving him a quick smile

"You're welcome," Edward said with a shy smile.

The four sat and talked waiting for Bella to finish eating. Edward paid for her food and they all left. Edward was going to follow Ivy home. Ivy started to object cause it would make sense if Bella just went with her but Bella gave her sister a look that meant they had private things to discuss. So Alice got in Ivy's car and Bella got in Edward's.

Ivy was ahead of them and was ready to get into her bed and sleep. However, when she heard Alice say that her dad was at the police station with Ivy's dad; the girl pulled over. The two got out of the car as Carlisle stepped outside.

"What happened," Ivy asked concerned.

"Waylon Forge was found in a boat out near his place," Carlisle hesitated before finishing his sentence, "I just examined the body."

"He died," Ivy asked in shock.

Tears filled her eyes. She's known this man for 17 years. He always came around and brought her presents in his Santa outfit. Even when she still didn't believe in him. During summer she and her dad would go fishing with him. When she was in elementary he would pick her up when her dad was still at work. Waylon and Charlie were best friends for as long as Ivy could remember.
