"Well, here we are." Aniya said as she guided her horse around a corner. I couldn't see anything until we completely turned because trees were blocking the view of the village, but when it came into view I wasn't disappointed. There were a bunch of small cabins and huts neatly built in the meadow. There was a river at one side if the village. It was pretty wide, and there was a waterfall as well. Surrounding the sides and the back of the meadow were trees and mountains. It almost looked like a village from a fantasy story. Aniya motioned to me that I could get off of the horse.

"I'm going to go put her in her stable. You're free to roam around, but the leader of our village lives all the way in the back. Let her know you're here. She'll show you where you will stay and answer any other questions before sending you off." I nodded, thanking Aniya for the ride as I turned away from her and the horse. I walked towards the back of the village, looking for the leader's home. I figured it would be fairly easy to spot. Usually, rulers always have extravagant places to live.

I spotted a large decorated cabin. It definitely stood out from the others. I made my way to the entrance of it, not paying any mind to the stares I was receiving from the villagers. As I was about to knock on the door, a spear blocked it. I pulled my hand away and turned to see it was a guard who was standing in my way.

"Halt. Why is a vampire in our village. We've told your sick clan that we don't want you here." The guard said as he stared me down. All I could do was let out a small laugh. I held out my hand to greet him, and explain that he misunderstood. "My name is Falen Asami, and I am not a vampire. I've come from GATE Academy to complete the request you guys sent out. I'm sure you've heard of it?"

The guard stared down at my hand, glaring a bit. "How do I know I can trust you. You're eyes are red like those of a vampire." His tone didn't change as he spoke. I took my hand away, giving up on the handshake as I reached in my bag to pull out the request. When I was about to hand it to him, a voice could be heard from behind us. "Boris! She's telling the truth. Don't worry, she isn't a vampire." It was Aniya. She slowed down and stood next to us before speaking again. "Ugh, I told Luis to tell you and the other guards about the request being accepted yesterday." Boris scratched the back of his head. "I'm sorry miss. So, if you're not a vampire then what you?" He asked, his voice was more friendly and a hint of curiosity was present. I smirked. "Demon Neko. There's a big difference." As expected, Aniya and Boris were both shocked. Demons are not that common around here. "So, can I go in now?" Without a word, Boris moved out of the way to let me enter.

I walked inside. The lady who was obviously the village's leader was sitting at a desk writing something. She looked up and set down her pen. After taking off her glasses, she stood up and looked at me. "Are you the student from GATE?" She asks quietly. I nodded and she gestured me to a sitting area. It had cushions on the floor used as seats, and it was in front of a fire place. "Can I get you anything to drink?" She asked as I took a seat on one of the floor cushions. After I got comfortable, I looked up at her. "No thank you I'm good." She smiled at me and sat down across from me with some papers in her hand. "So, Miss Asami, you will be staying in a hut next to where the guards' huts are. It's already prepared for you. Here's the key." She handed me a key and I accepted it, stuffing it into my pocket. I was about to thank her and leave so I could get started early, but she stopped me. "There's two more things I need to tell you about." Her voice was more serious now, so I too became serious. "What is it?" I asked.

"First, I must warn you of the dangerous clan that you may cross paths with while traveling to the dragon's lair. The clan is evil, and most importantly, it is a clan of vampires. Do not let them bite you, for you will become one of them." I nodded and didn't say anything. I wanted to hear what else she had to say. "Secondly, this treasure that was stolen from us was a crown. It's been with the village for generations. When the crown is worn by the village leader, it brings luck to the village. This is important, and we are relying on you to bring it back."
