CHAPTER 12

Frédéric's POV

Lisa called me in the middle of my dad and I's lunch meeting. I answered the call even though I still have feelings for her and am still trying to move on. I understand answering her call will do me no good but I still answered it anyway. My dad was looking at me. I hung up with Lisa and promised her that I will call her back. At first she doesn't want to because she doubts that I will call her again. But after nth time of convincing her that I will call again she was okay with it.

After the call I saw my dad smirking in front of me.

"What's with the face, Dad?" I ask him smiling

"Frédéric, I know how much you like that lady but are you sure you're doing the right thing talking to her again, I mean for someone who's trying to move on that is a bad idea, Child" my dad says.

"I know dad, but I can help it. This is the first time that I feel a strong feelings towards someone despite of the rejection" Frédéric said

"I know, love is a strong feeling so be very cautious,child. I don't want to see you sad and specially your mom, all worried about you because of this" My father says

"I understand, I am a grown man now, dad. I know what to do, but thank you so much for always being there for me, you and Mom." I said hugging my dad.

My family has been very supportive of me with my decisions. They all know that Lisa rejected me and I was terribly hurt because of that and they also understand that I still have feelings for her.

We ended our lunch meeting and we went back to our building to discuss a certain proposal from our new Thai Partners. A huge project is being planned and this project will be in Korea.

After hours at work I went home and got some sleep. I did not stay in the Tv room but I went directly to my room. I really feel so tired, exhausted even because of today's schedule. After our meeting I visited 5 of our branches again. I love reaching out to our employees and asking their opinion on how to improve our services. After all they are on the first line and if there is someone who can say something about what goes wrong or right that's them. We owe the success of our business to our employees. They are the heart of the LVMH Empire.

It's late in the evening and I get up from bed to drink water. For some reason I woke up thirsty. I went down to the kitchen and got myself a glass of water and went back to bed. I still couldn't sleep and suddenly I remembered that I promised to call Lisa. So I did.

"Hello, did I wake you up?" There are 8 hours difference in our time.

"Helloo?" Lisa answered the call and I guess I woke her up

"Ohh.. sorry, I woke you up." I said sadly 

 I know how important her sleep is since she is a busy woman. I really feel bad for waking her up in the middle of her sleep.

"That's alright, I'm glad you called." Lisa said

"Yes, I promise to call you back, remember? So yes, here I am pestering you in the middle of your sleep. Hahaha" I said

"Hahaha that's alright, Frédéric. I'm happy you called me back. I still don't have work in the morning so I can sleep late or wake up late" Lisa said

"So how's your day, Lis?" I asked her.

"My day went really well. I got the chance to call you and talked to you and then after our call in the morning, my cousin Rosie came over and brought chickens with her." Lisa said giggling

"Really? What did you two do then?" I ask her

"Nothing much, we watched Netflix and she ate her chicken. I didn't eat that much because I still need to fit my clothes for our US concert so I need not to gain weight and be fit" She said 

"Hahaha I see. Even if you eat lots of chicken you will still look great and sexy, Lisa" I told her. I really meant it

"You think I'm sexy huh.. You're sexy too," Lisa said with a sexy tone

Hearing her calling me sexy brings a very uncommon feeling. Is she flirting back with me now? She never did this before so why now after what happened? I asked myself because I'm confused. Lisa is giving me signals lately. Should I ask her? Maybe next time. I don't want to experience double kill as Pierre reminded me before.

"Uhmmm. Thanks Lis." I said to her

Our conversation went really well and lasted an hour. I can feel that she's really sleepy because her voice is getting cuter and cuter so I told her that we should hang up and call it a night. She agreed with me but before the call ended she told me the words that made my heart skip a beat again..

"Frédéric, before you hang up, I know that I've hurt you in the past and I rejected you. But if your offer of courting me is still open, then My answer now is Yes." lisa said

I can't believe what I heard so I ask her again to clarify. Maybe she's just sleepy and she will not remember this again tomorrow. 

"Lisa, are you sure of what you are saying?" i ask

"Fréd, I said no before because I am confused about my feelings. I don't know if I'm feeling the same way as you do to me. But that's in the past, after what happened after you didn't show up to my concert, not talking to me , I realized that you made me happy every time you talk to me and no one I mean has ever made me feel that way before. So if your offers still stands, I am saying Yes, you can court me." She said

"Uhmmm. Yes, i will.. I will. Court you, Lisa." I cannot believe that I stutter right now

We both ended the call and I shouted with so much happiness. I jump like a kid in my bed and keep on shouting, good thing that my room is soundproof so nobody can hear me. I am really happy right now.. I did the right thing because both my heart and brain are telling me.
