The succubus screams in terror as she wakes from her nightmare-plagued sleep, alerting the canine gang surrounding her. Oscula nudges her muzzle into her chest, trying to comfort her as Bats jumps up in surprise.

"It was just a nightmare. You're okay," Bats tries to reassure her, but the succubus continues to shake and whimper in silence and the phantom dog sighs. "I'll be right back."

He floats out of the room in search of the sorcerer. As Bats enters Stephen's study, he looks up at his human friends and shakes his head.

"How is she?" he asks and Bats floats over to his side.

"What kind of stupid question is that?"

"You know what I mean."

"I don't think she's very happy to be back."

"What makes you say that?" Stephen asks sarcastically, in frustration.

...

As the phantom dog floats away from Ren, she sits herself up, looking down at the two dogs resting their heads in her lap, and she sighs. She hadn't slept for nearly 3,000 years, let alone had a nightmare. On the bright side, the nightmare grounded her in a way. It told her that this was real, that she's really here, back at the Sanctum, back on Earth. Whether that's a good or a bad thing, though, remains unseen by the succubus.
She leans her head back against the wall, her nightmares plaguing her, running through her head over and over again. With over 3,000 years of sleep to catch up on and nightmares denying her that pleasure, she finally gives in and conjures a bottle of oxycodone in her hand. She opens the full bottle and quickly throws each pill to the back of her throat, dry swallowing the entire bottle of narcotics at once, allowing her to fall into a dreamless sleep.

...

The sorcerer is currently sitting in the library of the sanctum, deep in thought of what to do with the succubus. Stephen is at a loss. He has no idea what to do. He can't get anywhere near the poor woman, leaving him to have no other option but to leave her be for the moment. But he'd eventually have to confront her and, even worse, she'd eventually need to feed. The prospect of trying to get her to feed off of him seemed near impossible at this point. If she's afraid of everyone in the same way she fears him, it seems as if she'd never feed again. Unfortunately, not feeding will never be an option for the succubus. It never has been, and it never will be. Starvation has never ended well for the woman. It was a tossup as to how she'd react. Since she can't technically die of starvation, there are a lot of unknowns about how starvation will end up affecting her.

"Hey, doc," Bats greets the sorcerer as he floats into the room, breaking him from his daze.

"Any updates?"
