ordinary. mayu's encounter with semi, believe it or not, had an unexpected impact on her—it seemed to break something within her, but in a strangely positive way, much to tooru's annoyance.
since meeting the male, she had become a perpetual smile, beaming even during volleyball practices. her sudden giggles and constant phone-checking for messages from semi had started to grate on tooru.
curiosity piqued among her teammates, who couldn't help but poke fun and inquire about semi, feeding into mayu's infatuation and creating a whirlwind of delusions.
two weeks had passed since mayu and semi's meeting, and their incessant conversations kept her glued to her phone, awaiting his replies eagerly.
"there she goes again, squealing whenever that shiratorizawa setter replies back." tooru remarked, shaking his head in exasperation, having just overheard mayu's joyous noises from her room.
iwaizumi chuckled, trying to ease the tension. "come on, oikawa, cut her some slack. mayu really likes this guy." he pointed out. tooru rose from his bed and turned his attention to iwaizumi, who was engrossed in a game on his phone while perched in an office chair.
"i don't know, iwa. there's something off about that guy. he's just... too ordinary." he mused, his head tilting as he struggled to articulate his unease about semi's demeanor.
