So somehow I found myself as a snake on A-Lain's shoulder as "protection," thank goodness because I hate horses with a passion, at least ever since THAT happened. My body shivers both in fear of the memory that passed my head but also in cold, since I'm currently a cold blooded creature, and A-Lain notices as he brought his arm up and motioned me to slip in. As a slithered in I was welcomed with warmth by both A-Lain and Ruoye. Time passed as the carriage moved, I could since the uneasiness of the men carrying the carriage, but soon it lightened up as A-Lian, and the two idiots started talking.

"Nan Feng, Fu Yao," A-Lian spoke after a while, his voice lower than before as his body tensed slightly.

From the left I heard Nan Feng, "What is it?"

A-Lian's body tensed as he replied, "Something's come."

By now he must have entered the deeper parts of Mount Yujin. A-Lian must have thought I was feeling uneasy as he started to gently pet me, "Maybe I was squeezing him? Either way this feels nice," I thought to myself, allowing my body to relax even more.

Nan Feng's voice sounded more serious as he spoke, "I don't hear anything."

Fu Yao's voice also grew cold as he responded, "Me neither."

A-Lian responded, "That means it's purposely letting only me hear."

I could sense that the eight military officers were starting to get nervous, it's to be expected though, they are human. And no one really wants to die , while unless they're feeling suicidal but what ever. But a few of them began stalling their steps, so noticeably that A-Lian took notice. I slithered back up to his neck, but a majority of my body remained under his dress.

"Don't stop. Pretend nothing is the matter," He spoke so calmly as he smiled.

He continued, "It's singing."

Fu Yao asked, "What is it singing?"

I could tell A-Lian was listening carefully before saying, "New bride, new bride, new bride in the red bridal sedan..." His voice was slow and clear, almost ringing through the seemingly empty forest.

He continued, "Brimming tears, past the hills, smile not... under the bridal veil.. The ghost g-" "Is it the Ghost groom or what is it?"

"What did tha mean," Nan Feng frowned.

Xie Lian said, "It means exactly what you heard. It's to tell the bride inside the sedan to only cry and not smile."

"I ment, what's the meaning of this creature running over to give you hints like this," Nan Feng said.

Fu Yao spoke, "It might not be giving hints. It's also possible that it's purposely trying to encourage the opposite, and only smiling can keep one safe and sound, but its objective is to trick people into crying. It's hard to say if the brides from the past were deceived like this."

"Oh, Fu Yao, when hearing such a voice on the road, any normal bride would be scared to death. How could they smile?" A-Lian spoke. "Besides, what's the worst that can happen whether I cry or smile?"

"Getting kidnapped," Fu Yao quickly stated.

"But isn't that our objective for tonight's outing?" A-Lian asked.

I heard Fu Yao sniffing from in here, "He must not be enjoying this plan," I thought to myself, "Ugh I wish I could speak normally without using mana, this is a pain."

"There's another thing I feel I must tell you all," A-Lian spoke, still smiling.

"What," Nan Feng asked.

"I've been smiling ever since I mounted the bridal sedan," He said, sounding slightly cheeky.
