26: To Jule, From a Heart on the Brink

Hey Jule, in the quiet of my mind,
Where feelings churn, in depths confined,
I pen these words, a tender bind,
A soul's plea, through the storms we've winded.

In the echoes of my pleading cries,
Lies a heart that for your return, vies,
At the cliff's edge, where my spirit flies,
For you, against the world, it defies.

Numb and aching, in shadows cast,
A love unyielding, through futures vast,
In silence, my days, they pass so fast,
For a love like ours, is meant to last.

Forgive my sarcasm, a shield so thin,
A cover for the turmoil within,
Not to wound you, but to begin,
To show the pain, that's always been.

I blame myself, in guilt, I'm cloaked,
For the words unsaid, the promises broke,
In my mistakes, my spirit soaked,
Yet in your light, my hope awoke.

I dream of a future, bright and clear,
Where you and I, conquer each fear,
Through every smile, and every tear,
In my heart, your voice, I'll always hear.

I fear the loss, the deepest dread,
Of losing you, a thought I can't shed,
But in my heart, where all is said,
Lies a love, that forever, is led.

I wait, in hope, for your sweet return,
For in your absence, my heart does yearn,
With every breath, for you, I burn,
In this love, life's greatest lesson I learn.
