Amal's P.O.V:

It was time. Ammi had already informed in the morning that they were coming. By "they" I meant my in-laws. To say I was nervous was an understatement, I was sweating buckets. I still can't believe that I have grown old enough to marry.

I was so focused on my career and my family that I never even imagined that one day I had to leave it all behind, that one day my priorities will change. I had offered tahajjud prayer last night just because I was very nervous. No doubt that peace can only be felt through Allah's zikr.

I was going to school today so I hurriedly got ready. The driver uncle always gave me pick and drop services.

Going downstairs, I greeted everyone before settling down on my chair. I drank the glass of milkshake Ammi had prepared for me and kissed Ammi and bhabhi on the cheek before going away.

I could here Ammi screaming at me to finish my breakfast but I just gave her a flying kiss before sitting in the car.

The school work was actually fine. I had extra classes too. I teach biology to O-levels students. In my opinion, the bond between a teacher and student should be of trust.

A bond so deep and doubtless that a children can tell any of his problems to the teacher easily. I try engaging my students alot and try to teach them biology in a fun way.

The only thing I keep in mind is that my behaviour is always kind but not specifically soft. This way, the students respect me and love me and never try to disobey me.

The school ended pretty quickly considering it was winter season, the days were getting shorter and the night time was getting prolonged. I was happy today because I finally got my paycheck.

The first thing I did after receiving my salary was to buy some cream puffs. I was a huge fan of cream puffs and it was kind of a ritual for me to buy cream puffs and novels with my salary.

I bought myself some cream puffs and straight away asked the driver to take me to the bookshop. Though I usually went to a library, the only time I go to a bookshop is when I get my salary. I buy the most expensive, rich in quality books. This is the only time I treat myself otherwise I save my money and never spend it eventually giving it to my mother.

As soon as I stepped inside the shop, I went towards the young adult section and bought myself "King of Greed". Took a picture of the book and sent it to my friend's group. Sehar, my friend immidiately saw it and told me how mean I was. I smiled at her words. She was a lawyer, the best at her work and she loved novels.

She had not read this one yet and I got the opportunity to tease her about it.

"You guys are always talking about fictional stuff. Is the real world too boring for you? BTW Amal are you living under a rock or something? Why don't you meet with us? What about the girls night we planned?"

I laughed at the messages of my other friend, Dua. That girl hated it whenever we talked about fictional stuff or books in general. She was a doctor and whenever she had time, she would just scold us like this or we have a girls night out.

"Had some stuff going on. Will meet you this Sunday. There are somethings I have to tell you guys too." I replied.

"Alright will talk to you soon, jaan." Replied Sehar.
