Amal's P.O.V:

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. Immidiately turning it off because of how loud it was, I groaned before trying to sleep for five minutes more. I had been too tired before and now getting out of such a warm and comfy bed was very hard. Hearing the azaan, I sighed before getting up.

Stretching my body, I stood up to brush my teeth and do ablution for Namaz. Standing for fajr namaz, I closed my eyes for a second, took a deep breath and started my namaz.

After saying salam, I started my Dua. It felt strange, it was my nikkah today. I could not believe it that I was about to get married, that I would have to leave this house. There was this strange feeling inside me. Baba, Mama, Bhaiya and Bhabhi were the only one that revolved in my world. Now, there will be more people in my small world.

My sleep had completely vanished at this point. I decided to go in the garden. I took a shawl considering it was early morning. Early mornings in Lahore were absolute beauty especially in winters. The fog and cold made it far more peaceful plus the sun would rise quite late.

Cautiously going down the stairs as to not wake anyone else up, I slowly opened the back door and slipped outside. The nightlights were still turned on and I sat down on the small step facing the garden while my back was towards the house.

Sitting there for quite a while, I imagined. I reminsicsed, those days when me and bhaiya used to be school going. I remember the time I fell and bhaiya had scolded me but Ammi showed love to me and instead pulled bhaiya's ear. I remember all of us celebrating because I passed my board exams with a very good score. I even remember bhaiya and Bhabhi's nikkah in this very garden.

At that time I teased bhabhi so much, never even imagining that I had to be in her place in future. Life is amazing when you are a kid. The world looks all sunshine and rainbows. But, when you grow up, you realise what is the real world. The world in which you have to struggle every single day. Doesn't matter what kind of struggle, it can be for food, money, honour or yourself.

I was so deeply engrossed in my thoughts that I did not feel the presence of baba and bhaiya.

"Amal beta, what's wrong? Why are you here at this hour?" Baba's gentle voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

Glancing at both of them, I gulped the sudden lump that formed in my throat.

"Nothing baba....just feeling a little weird." My voice cracked at the end and baba sat down beside me.

He pulled me in his embrace, just the way he used to do. His hands went towards my dupatta covered head and he started caressing it.

"Meri pari, kya hua? Kisi nay kuch kaha hai? Bhaiya nay tang kiya hai? Tabiyat to theek lg rhi hai....." Baba's voice echoed in the empty garden.

( "My angel, what happened? Did someone say something? Has bhaiya done something? You don't look sick.....")

I just shook my head and the tears I had tried so bad to control fell. In no time, I was sobbing. My sudden breakdown caught both of them off guard.

"Aray choti? Kyun ro rhi ho? Aisay pareshan to na kro mera bacha. Btao kya hua? Bhaiya sb theek kr de ga"

(Little one? Why are you crying? Don't worry us like this my child. Tell me, what happened? Bhaiya will make everything alright.)
