"You are my today and all of my coming tomorrows."

I can't believe it's D-day

I can't believe it's D-day. Today is finally the day when everything is going to change. My life, my family, and my home.

I should feel something, maybe emotional, excited, or even a little angry but I am numb. I didn't feel a thing even when I saw the decorations, the red lehenga that Raghuvanshis sent, or the engagement ring on my finger.

Badi ma told me that the makeup artists would be here by three and it's just twelve-thirty right now, so I opened my memories which I've kept safe all these years. The photo album of mumma papa.

I went towards my closet and took out the album, now covered in a layer of dust but the recollection of days was as fresh as yesterday.

I dusted it with a cloth and looked at the title on the cover page-

'KHUSHI KE PAL, WITH ARORAS'

(Happy moments with Aroras)

I turned it open and there was a photo of one year Vidyut bhai in mumma's arms while she was kissing his forehead.

I smiled at the fond memory of papa telling me how bhai was like a white rat when he was born. A small tear escaped my eye before I could've stopped it and I turned a few more pages.

There was a photo of me sitting with papa on the sofa telling him something while he was listening to me like nothing else mattered to him at that moment.

I still remember the day because how can I forget what he said then, when it is all coming into reality now?

FLASHBACK

'Papaaaa.' I called out loudly.

'Yeah? What does Princess Mansi need now?' Papa said bowing his head down while I chuckled shyly.

'A wedding?! When will I get married, papa? And who'll be my prince like they show in the movies?' My little five-year-old self whined wanting a wedding as if I was asking for candy.

'Soon, princess. You'll be the prettiest bride in the country, no, the whole universe.' Papa said opening his arms wide open while I ran to him stumbling on my purple unicorn toy.

'More than mumma?' I whispered making sure that she won't come to scare me away.

'Yeah, my gorgeous girl.' Dad said, his eyes held pure admiration in them.

'You both don't love me anymore.' An eight-year-old Vidyut bhai said making a cute angry pout and turning his head away while crossing his arms across his chest.

'Chal, dramebaaz. Idhar aa.' Mumma said coming from the kitchen with a freshly baked chocolate cake.

(Drama-queen. Come here.)
