Madi's POV
___________

I was pacing back and forth. "He's going to be here any second now." I said. "I don't know what to do. I don't know what to say. This will be very awkward." "Madi." Lilly said. "I guarantee you that he won't suspect a thing. If you want to tell him, tell him at the right time." "My gosh darn foster mother doesn't know about this." I said.

"Well, shit." Melissa said. "But I'm agreeing with you. I wouldn't go, 'hey, I'm a fucking wolf.' He'd think you're crazy." "Now that you say that," Lilly said, "I also agree. Forget what I just said. Who else is coming?" "Laura and Jason." I said, sniffing the air. "And Laura, Jason, and Brian are in my driveway."

"Nice." Lilly said. "I can't wait to meet Brian. Why don't I do this?" She waved her hand and the decorations were beautiful. There was a wreath on the door, red and gold tinsel were lining the tree, and there was even mistletoe in the corner in my room. "Very funny, Lilly." I said. My face turned bright red as she laughed.

They were close to the door. "Do I look okay?" I asked. "Okay, take off the uniform and put on something attractive." Lilly said. "I don't have anything nice though." I said. "Try this." Lilly said as she snapped her fingers.

The softball uniform turned into a red dress going just above the knees. It was strapless with hundreds of jewels lining the top of the dress and fading out towards the bottom of the dress. I looked down at my feet. I wore one inch gold braided wedges. At least I don't look short. I thought.

Melissa clapped. "You are a natural, Lilly." She said. "Agreed." I said. "Hold on." I said. I ran into my room and grabbed a necklace I made. It stood out to me because of the studded crescent moon charm. I took a peek in my closet. My uniform was still there. I sighed in relief. I know I would rather wear my uniform, but the dress is so damn pretty.

I quickly put on eyeliner and a bit of concealer on the blemishes. "What are you doing?" Lilly asked walking into my room. "Fucking blemishes." I said. Right when I said that, they disappeared and my makeup was on point. She also dyed my hair, but dark auburn. "Called it." I said. She laughed. "Listen, I want this night for you to be a memory." She said. "And you can keep the dress."

There was a knock on the door. "I'm ready." I said. Melissa, Lilly and I walked to the door and I answered it. "Hey, Madi." Laura said. "You look crazy gorgeous." "You too." I said. "You've learned, haven't you?" She nodded. "Yeah." She said. "Lilly taught me so well. I owe it all to her. Did she do this?" I nodded. "Yep." I said.

Then there was Jason. "Damn girl." He said. "You so fine." I playfully punched him. "Shtap!" I said, laughing. "Where's Brian?" "He is just walking up the driveway." He said. "So, who's your friend?" "Don't you remember Melissa?" I asked. "Oh yeah." He said. "How's cheerleading?"

"We are doing awesome this season." She said. "I'm a flyer." "Nice." He said. "And, how's softball?" "Dome league starts in January." I said. "Laura is pitching." "And I'm all jacked up catching and center field." Lilly said. "Same." I said. We both laughed. Then we heard a knock.

Outside, I saw a boy with a light blue and white plaid button down shirt and jeans. His dark brown hair was neatly cut. His brown eyes are what looked attractive. Nerves were getting the best of me. I was so scared to death. Was I going to transform from nerves?

....

Brian's POV
____________

I knocked on the door to Madi's house. I was nervous. I knew her really well. I don't know why I was nervous. I heard voices in the house. Here is what I heard.

First, it was Madi. "It's him." She said. "Do I look okay?" Then it was Lilly. "You look fine." She said. "Answer the door." Then I heard a whimper. A literal dog whimper. I have no idea who that came from.

Then I heard Melissa. "Just answer it." She said. Then the door opened. It was Madi. "Hi, Collin." She said. "Welcome to the party." I couldn't speak. "Hi." I spat. "You look nice. How have you been?" "Really good." She said. "I made the Lady Blaze. I'm their number one catcher." "Good for you." I said. "I see your friends are also here." "My foster mother told me I could invite some friends." She said. "So yeah, I invited them and you."

She let me in the house. The decorations were beautiful. "Do you know where I can put my coat?" I asked. "Yeah." Madi said. "Follow me." We passed her room and she ended up opening a closet door and it contained hangers. She took my coat and hung it up.

I couldn't stop staring at her. She was really pretty. She looked back at me. She smiled. However, I noticed something peculiar. It was her eyes. Under her wavy auburn hair, they changed color. It was a pretty yellow. I couldn't describe it. It was like a wolf's.

We were back into the kitchen to meet Madi's friends. Madi's mother greeted the parents and friends of her own. "Who wants to hear piano?" Laura asked. We all agreed and walked to the dining room.

In the dining room, there was a grand piano. Madi ran to it. It sounded well tuned. We started with the traditional carols such as jingle bells and deck the halls. Then, her mother went to the piano. Madi started to do a solo. She started singing. I knew the song. It was Oh Holy Night. It was in the chord of B-flat. Perfect tune. Here's how it went.

" Oh holy night. The stars are brightly shining. This is the night of the great savior's birth." Madi sang. Her voice was so beautiful that it struck me like lightning. Even the piano was so beautiful. I liked it.

Before I knew it, she was in the last chorus. "Fall on your knees. Oh hear the angel voices. Oh night divine. Oh night, when Christ was born." I couldn't believe it. She even reached the high note. "Oh night divine. Oh night. Oh night divine."

She stopped singing and soon after, the piano ended. We all clapped. I was in awe for the longest time. She seemed to notice. She was hugging her friends. I wasn't paying attending because she ended up hugging me. I hugged her back. "Great job, girl." I said. "Thanks." She said. She was really happy. I could tell. She totally nailed it.

She hugged me again. Among the group I saw Laura, Melissa, and Lilly. They were giggling. I pumped my fist. They gave me the thumbs up. So did Jason. I felt great. Mission accomplished. I thought.
