I looked at him. He was still standing over me with the blade of his sword right next to my face.
"So you would be safe." I just said and now he looked shocked and surprised. "I? Safe?!" He asked in a bitter tone.
"You left me when I was hurt, the most vulnerable!" He couldn't hide the frustration that laced his voice. "I know... but if I would've stayed them more enemies would've come and you weren't in any condition to fight if it was needed." I explained still in the ground.
He made a step backwards to give me the chance to stand up. I looked around to see that Prince Wilbur and Prince Tommy were still watching.
As I made eye contact with Wilbur he understood and left with his brother.
I got up fully and looked towards Technoblade.
"I'm sorry that I left but we both know that it was for the best." I continued the conversation.
"I tried to find you for one year." He said with nothing but hurt in his voice. I felt a sting in my chest. I didn't know he had looked for me...
"You did...?" I asked speechless. "Pf course I did! What did you expect?! To sit around doing nothing?!" He shouted again but he didn't sound angry.
I felt a wave of guilt wash over me at the realisation.
"They were after me because they wanted to take me back to my kingdom... they were dangerous... i didn't want to risk loosing you." I almost whispered.
"So you thought it would be better for me to just leave without saying anything even though we could've gone through that together like we had always done?" His voice was a bit quieter now than before.
"I-..." I didn't know what to answere. "Exactly..." Techno huffed looking straight into my eyes. His Ruby eyes were glistening with emotions right now.
Frustration, anger, disappointment, betrayal, sadness...
"I'm sorry..." I whispered again. He looked torn between two things.
I expected him to shout at me, leave the place or even fight me again but he embraced me into a hug.
I almost immediately returned the hug and held onto him as if I could lose him at any moment.
When he let go of me again he turned away, taking his sword back into its sheath.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner that it was you?" He asked. "I felt guilty... I still think that it was right thing I did but I knew that I hurt you and that I broke your trust... I thought you'd hate me and tell me to leave again." I told him the truth.
It felt good to be able to talk to him about it...
"What makes you think I don't hate you?" He asked coldly which let me freeze for a second."If you really hated me, you would've killed or at least hurt me when we were fighting just minutes ago and I was laying on the ground... but you didn't." I reasoned my previous sentence.
Techno huffed a bit amused. "I may not hate you but I'll definitely not forgive you anytime soon."
I sighed. "I know. And I didn't expect you to forgive me but I wanted to explain what I did and why I did it."
Techno nodded. "We should go eat lunch now." He said still somewhat cold but there was something else in his tone.
I placed my own sword back into its sheath as well and we walked to the dining hall in silence.
When we got there King Philza and the princes were already seated which we did as well. There was still some tension but it got less.
"I see that you two have spoken about your reasons." King Philza smiled softly and I nodded. Techno remained unfazed and began eating without saying anything.
"That fight was more than amazing!" Tommy then said loudly like always. I nodded.
"For a second Techno really scared me when he swung his sword at you as you were already on the ground." He continued talking.
"Now that I know you both fought together a while ago it makes sense. It looks like you are dancing when you're fighting." Prince Wilbur them said aus well.
Techno looked up from his plate. We both knew how much that fight we just had meant. It was our way of expressing our emotions.
