chapter 1

I woke up to a loud beeping roaring in my ear " 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘱! 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘱! 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘱!" I groan, realising I'm going to have to get ready for school. I only have one week left of high school and then I'm getting ready to go  off to college. I silence my alarm and clumsily make my way out of my bed and stumble to the bathroom. My parents have been out of town all week and my twin brother is at his girlfriend Tanya's apartment. ugh Tanya. she makes me want to punch her every time I hear her annoying falsetto voice. It pisses me off. Just thinking about that blonde bimbo is making me mad. I try to forget about her and get ready for school. at least its Friday. Now I'm going to have the whole weekend off before my parents and Luke come back. the day slowly drags on. as I go from class to class I think about what I'm going to do tonight. My best friend Maddie is coming round to spend the night. I'll honestly be surprised if she remembers. she's VERY forgetful. I count down the hours, then the minutes and then , finally, the last seconds before "RINNNGGGG!!"I run out of school and wait for Maddie. I finally spot her and shout her name. "Maddie!" 

she spots me and speeds towards me, making me stumble as she gives me a bear hug. she's also very clingy and affectionate.

"Maddie don't forget you're coming to my house tonight!" I tell her 

"I won't I promise! I've got everything ready! I've already packed a bunch of snacks and I'm coming to your house at 5!"

"I'm surprised you remembered the time. I'm gonna go then and sort out all of the stuff for tonight." We say goodbye to each other and I go to my car and drive home. As soon as I park, I lock my car and go to sit in the living room. I dial my brothers number and call him. "ring ring. ring ring. ring ri-" 
"hello?" I hear from my phone.

"Luke! please tell me your staying at your ratty girlfriends house tonight!"

"first of all she is not ratty! also yeah I am. why?"

"because Maddie is coming round tonight and I want you out of the house because you always ruin it!"

"No I don't! It's your friend that ruins it! she's the one who wakes me up at 2 am for no reason!"

"Forget it you know I'm right! I'll speak to you later Luke! Don't forget mom and dad are back on Monday!"

"Alright Liv I know! bye!"

"Bye!"

I end the call and check the time "16:52" I have less than 10 minutes! I get all of the snacks out of the pantry and put them on the coffee table. I get some blankets and pillows and put them on the couch. as soon as I finished putting them on the couch, I hear "DING DONG!" I run to the door and fling it open so fast it could have flew off the hinges! Maddie hugs me and belly- flops onto the couch. She does this every time. As she jumped, I see her backpack fly through the air. I join her on the couch and say " do u wanna get some pizza?"

"YES!" she shouts.

I order some pizza and whilst we wait for it to get here we chose a movie.

"what should we watch?" I ask

"THE HUNGER GAMES!" Maddie says

"NO! NOT AGAIN"

"PLEASE LIV ITS SO GOOD!" she pleads

"YEAH IT IS A GOOD MOVIE BUT I DON'T WANT TO HEAR 2 HOURS OF YOU SIMPING OVER JOSH HUTCHERSON!"

"but he's sooo good looking!"

"why don't we watch Harry Potter instead" I ask

"nope we are watching the hunger games" Maddie declares

"fine.." I say, finally giving up. you can't win with this girl. as we decide i hear the doorbell ring. I run to the door and pay for the pizza. Me and Maddie are so hungry the pizza is gone before the reaping!

~2 hours later~ 

 "I can't believe you made me watch that movie again. it's a good movie and all but I hate hearing the same thing over and over again!" I tell Maddie

"And what's that thing liv?" Maddie asks me

" 'josh looks soo good in that scene. Oh my god josh looks so hot!'  I never wanna hear that again!" I tell her

"Fine no more hunger games tonight" she tells me

" thank fuck"

for the next few hours we watch the rest of 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴. at about 1 am Maddie finally drifts off and when I'm about to go to sleep, I'm jerked awake by a loud noise.
