chapter 10

"OLIVIA ELIZABETH MILLER IF YOU DON'T GET OUT OF YOUR BED AND GET YOUR ASS DOWNSTAIRS RIGHT NOW YOU ARE NOT HAVING JOSH ROUND TONIGHT"

I groan. I hardly got any sleep last night cos every time I  was about to drift off, my phone buzzed again with someone else texting me. It was exhausting. At about 5am I had to tell everyone I'm going to sleep and to leave me alone. Reluctantly though, I drag my sleep-ridden body out of my bed and clumsily proceeded down the stairs. 

"Mom why can't I just sleep?"

"It's Half 12 young lady! Your Tío and Hermana will be here in a few hours! I want you to help me tidy this house!"

"Can I get changed first?"

"No! You should have thought about that before you decided to sleep in after I shouted you multiple times! Now go get a wash cloth and spray and clean the kitchen cabinets!"

4 hours later

"Mom please can I stop now? Josh is going to be here in a half hour and I need to get ready. I also need to pick Maddie up."

"Where is Maddie?"

"Applying for jobs to help her with money in college."

"Oh so I see she used her brain for once!"

"Mom leave her alone. So can I go get ready?" 

"Yes I suppose so. But hurry! Your sister will be here any second! And where is your dad? I haven't seen him all day!"

I dash upstairs before she can bark more orders at me and I grab the first dress I lay my hands on and quickly wriggle into it. When I look down to see what I'm wearing, I realise it's my prom dress. Of course it is. The one night I need to wear something nice with Josh coming, I wear that. I can't change now otherwise I won't have time to pick Maddie up. She finished 35 minutes ago, at 4pm. She said she's staying late anyway because she's having a drink with a friend. I may not be religious but I pray that it's Connor. I have to hurry my make-up so it only takes 10 minutes thank fuck. I put my sneakers on, swipe my car keys up and run out to my car. I hurry to Starbucks (She doesn't work there. She works and the clothing store right next door) where I see Maddie talking to someone. The persons entire body is covered by the wall so I go in. YES! It is connor! I stroll up to them and say, behind Maddie,

"I hate to interrupt this date, But I need to take Maddie home." I then go out to my car and wait for them to say their goodbyes. After a few minutes, Maddie comes out and gets in my car.

"Don't say anything liv"

"I wasn't going too" It hurt to hold in my smirk. We drove home in silence. I told Maddie to go get one of my dresses if she wants and to hurry up. I go downstairs just in time to take out the Lasagne I made. As I placed it on the side to cool, The doorbell rings. I fly to the door and swing it open.

"LIV!"

"LILY!" I don't care if she's thirteen, I pick her up, give her a huge hug and swing her around.

"LIV I'M NOT 6 ANYMORE STOP!"

"hmmmmm.... NO!" We both laugh as I set her down.

"Tío Fernandes!" I give him a hug and ask "Who's this?"

"This is Manuel. Liv, Manuel. Manuel, Liv." 

"Hey nice to meet you" He has a deep yet soft and soothing voice.

"You too. Your a lucky guy my tio is one of the best guys you could date, I mean he did take in my sister so she didn't go into foster care!"

"Hmm I'll remember that!" Tio places his hand on Manuels back and leads him through the house. 

"Come on Lily! I need to tell you so much!" I grab her hand and pull her upstairs. Before we go into my room, I knock and say,

"Maddie are you nearly done?"

"Yeah just finishing up my make-up!"

I push open my door and Lily leaps onto my bed.

"Hey Lily! I'll give you a hug in a bit!"

"Hey Maddie! So guys, what's happened since I last came?"

"Liv broke up with Matt!"

"YES LIV FINALLY OH MY GOD I HATED THAT UGLY FUGLY LITTLE BITCH SO MUCH!"

"Yeah well Maddie won a copy of The Hunger Games in a Josh Hutcherson competition so shes watched it before the actual actors!"

"Maddie I swear to god if you don't have it right now I'm going to kill you!"

"Please Lily you think I wouldn't! I watch constantly just to piss of Liv!"

"I don't know, I don't mind it that much now!"

"Why because of J-" Maddie's voice got cut off by the doorbell. I go downstairs and answer it.

"Hey Josh, come in"

"Hey Liv." He walks in and I take him upstairs. 

"Hang on. Just wait outside here for a sec."

"Okay" 

I walk into my room and say to Lily, "Hey Lily, you know how I couldn't come see you for you 13th so you had to make do with a card and some cash?"

"Yeah why?"

"Well, Do you want another gift?"

"Yeah sure."

"Okay, let me go get it."

I stick my head out and wave Josh in. As he reaches the door frame, within clear view of Lily,  Her Jaw dropped so much you could use her mouth as a basketball hoop, with yoga balls instead of basket balls. 

"Liv. Are you fucking me about?"

"When have you ever known me to fuck about. Josh this is Lily, my little sister"

"Hey Lily." 

"OH MY GOD JOSH HUTCHERSON KNOWS MY NAME!"

"hey Josh we where just talking about you!" Maddie says, without turning around.

"What was you saying?"

"Just about you and Liv being love birds."

"Haha" I say sarcastically. Josh leaves his place at the door frame and goes to sit next to Lily. I go downstairs to tell my mom that Josh is here, and Josh and Lily start talking.

"Hey mom, just so you know Josh is here."

"Where is he?"

"Upstairs talking to Lily."

"A boy in your room liv?"

"Mom stop. What's gonna happen."

"Fine I'll trust you! I won't tell your dad."

"Thanks." I leave the room and head back upstairs. I hear the faint muttering of chatter grow louder as I proceed up the stairs. Once I've reached a certain point, I can here the full conversation. I hear Lily say,

"-So you should date Liv! You've proved you like her, Just ask her out" I stop dead in my tracks. Josh likes me?!?! No way. I refuse to believe a celebrity likes me. Now that I think about our previous conversations, I see how he wasn't being funny or sarcastic, he was flirting. How did I not see it before! I start to walk again and when I reach the door, they stop talking.

"What where you guys talking about?"

"erm.. Just about how You and Maddie have watched a movie that he stars in before him!"

"Yeah. So i'm guessing it was Maddie who won the Josh Hutcherson one?"

"Wow how on earth did you guess" I say sarcastically, slapping my hands on my face.

"Wild guess" he shrugs. I guess he is a good actor because if I didn't know any better, I would think he is genuine. The only reason I can tell is because he knows Maddie. He also has a smirk on his face so it could be that. He glances at Lily and I see her head nod, moving a fraction of an inch. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't had been paying close attention.

"hem hem. Erm Liv... can I talk to you?" He asks me.
