I woke up to a stiff back and a cold floor. I guess my days of sleeping on a cloud pampered my back. I got up and continued to knock on the door.
I was lucky this closet was pretty big. I ended up finding a whole box of cosmetics and a mirror. I put on my daily makeup and brushed out my hair. I would just have to wear my dress from yesterday.
Maybe I'll look pretty if I die in here.
I started looking for food, or at least canned food. I came up empty handed. My stomach growled.
" Shut up!" I scolded my belly after it's fifth rumble.
My bodily clock told me that it was time to go to bed. I had another hard night on the floor. when I woke up I looked for more food but all I could find was a pack of dried pears.
I waited for about another two hours after I woke up. I just sat there thinking about how I was going to die in this horrible closet from dehydration.
After a while, I heard a quite shift of the door, and I crawled over to it. I started hitting the door as hard as I could, so the person could at least see the door moving. There was a quite click and the door opened.
"We found her!" Someone cried. I stumbled out of the room and into my fiancé's arms.
"You're safe." He muttered into my hair. He gave me a little kiss and I broke away.
"Water, need water." I croaked before collapsing into his arms.
_________
"I love you so much." he said picking me off the bed. Instead of going to the hospital, we went to his room for me to wake up and get water. I looked around to the dark wood walls.
"I like your room." Said my throat still sore. He opened a small door almost hidden in the wall. We walked down the hallway and into my new room.
It was spectacular! Everything was a white or ivory color, and the bathroom counter tops were quartz.
"It's beautiful." I said in my croaky voice.
"So how in the world did you get stuck in that closet?" He asked me.
"I thought it was your room, in my defense it was dark and the door was cracked open."
"You spent two days in that closet!"
"No need to remind me. How many times will I almost die in this palace?" I asked.
He winked and my stomach erupted with butterflies like a school girl with a crush, "It's what makes life so amusing." He said carrying me to my new bed. My room was almost finished. It was way bigger than my old room, and the ceilings were higher.
"Near death experiences are not amusing." I pointed at him, unable to hide my grin.
"Do you want food?" He asked me.
"Take a guess," I smiled, still clutching at my stomach. He grinned and walked out.
He came back a few minutes later with all of my favorite things. Pizza, brownies, white chocolate croissants etc.
"I'm dating the best person in the world," I mumbled, almost diving into my food.
"You're welcome," Christian said and then leaned in to give me a small kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck to return the kiss. His arms snaked their way around my waist.
"Love you," I said when I finally pulled away.
He smiled and whispered the same words into my ear. He brushed past the black diamond earring that I was wearing and it tickled my neck. I flinched. He grinned and gave me one last kiss of my cheek before leave my room.
I heaved myself up off the bed. I need a shower.
____________
When I was out of the shower I but on my robe and chose what to wear, wondering where my maids are.
I ended up picking out a pretty purple floor length dress. I choose a flower for my hair applied basic makeup.
When I walked out of my room, I saw Christian waiting for me with a huge rose in his hand. He handed me the rose and I looped my arm through his.
"What's this about?" I asked.
"Wedding details, stuff like that." he replied with a grin.
"Oh..." I trailed off with a little smile.
"Would you still marry me if I was a farm boy working on a ranch of in the country?" I asked me. I looked at him with a bewildered face and answered.
"I would marry you if your were a hobo in an alley. I fell in love with you and your personality, not your life."
He pulled me in for a small kiss. My stomach jumped into my throat as I deepened the kiss. I don't care if we are in a hallway.
"Red or white?" Riley said holding up roses as she came around the corner. "Oh."
She rushed back around the corner and when we turned it she stared at us. She studied our eyes for a second and spoke.
"What was I thinking when I actually tried in The Selection?" She asked herself. "You two are like your in another dimension filled with love and happy rainbows." she smirked.
"Love I get, but why happy rainbows?" I asked with a laugh.
"It just seemed like the right thing to say." she told me. "Don't you ever have work to do?" She asked Christian.
"I do, but I mostly do it in other times so I can be with my darling." he said brushing his nose against mine and rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb.
"Aw. That's so sweet. Now, red or white?" she smiled but was not amused.
"What do you think?" He asked turning to me.
"How about both?" White for the bridesmaids and red for me?"
We decided to change our colors. mostly because everything was delivered in the colors of red and white. It is going to be a winter wedding, and don't winter wedding have white in the color scheme? Riley almost had a fit when I told her that we chose red and white. Her words were and I quote, "Red, and white in a winter wedding will look like someone just got murdered in the snow."
I'm not kidding. She told me this when Christian wasn't around but still. She even said it with a straight face.
"Well, I'll tell the maids, but you should plan your bridesmaids." She said with a huff and then turned and walked away. It's hard to have a drama queen planning the wedding of the century.
