Yo just a heads up, THIS WILL PROBABLY NOT MAKE MUCH SENSE IF YOU ARE A RETURNING READER. This is a filler chapter because I felt the end needed much more explaining so I decided to fix it. Please continue to read to the next part after this, and it might make a little more sense.
For all of you new time readers; please ignore this, and thanks for reading <3
"Get out. Get out!" I yelled as the window shattered. "Save yourself," I looked deep into my best friend's eyes. She was shaking in fear but managed to nod and run into the pack of people all moving to the safe rooms. "Christian! Mom! Anyone?" I yelled again.
A guard came to grab my arm and I flinched away from him. "We have to go." I shook my head in protest as the sounds of gunshots echoed all around us.
"I ca- No, I won't leave without him." I flinched again at the sound of more guns. Christan met my eyes across the room and ran to me. I caught me in a hug before yelling at me to run. "You aren't a soldier, you can't fight this!" I yelled back at him before placing a kiss on his cheek. Red splattered the ground near me I turned to see who had hit the ground.
Connor.
No.My eyes widened. He was so young, he had so much to live for. I let out a sob and some of the armed men turned their attention to me. Several shots were fired at my back before I sprinted down the long hallway to a safe room. I took Christan with me by my hand.
Before we closed the door there was a young maid who was running around in a panic. "In here!" I yelled before we closed the door. She noticed and ran towards us. There were more shots fired and she fell before us, her eyes gaping at the two of us from the ground. Red hair mixed with blood on the ground in a pool.
I was shaking at staring into her dark eyes in shock. He pulled my arm away and shut the metal door. "She died. She's dead..." I bit my clenched fist as I shook. Tears never came.
Too many deaths. Too many deaths becuase of me. I should have just dropped out when I had the chance. It was my choice to stay.
"I know, it's okay. We need to keep moving." Christian tilted my face to meet his by my chin. My eyes met his dark blue anchoring ones, he pecked a small kiss onto my mouth before wrapping his arm around my waist and helping me to walk the secure hallway. The metal walls were rusting and faded but still shiny and seemed to reflect our movements. At the very end, there was one open safe room. We closed the door behind us.
"What about my mom, my dad... What about Jordan?!" I asked, my eyes round. He sat down on the single bed along with me and captured me in his strong arms, "Shhh... It's okay, I made sure they are secure, that's why it took me so long to get to you."
I sobbed and laughed at the same time, "Thank you. Thank you soo much... I-I love you." I've said it many times before but this time felt- somewhat harder? I buried my face into his suit.
"I love you so much. I went into such a panic when those alarms went off and you weren't with me. I didn't know where you were, I was so worried."
"What if they took me?" My voice shook.
His voice filled with such sincerity as he held me. As long as I was with him I felt safe, "Then I would tear through the world to get you back."
