"You made me feel as though I was enough"

August's Pov

I was sitting down in a chair next to Sabrina's hospital bed, holding her hand as she slept.
"August? Can I talk to you? Outside."
Finnick asked me, tapping my shoulder. I nodded to him and followed him outside the room.
"What'd you want to talk about?"
I asked him crossing my arms. I swear if he is going to tell me that he's leaving Sabrina I'll kill him. Right here right now.
"I kinda already asked her, but could I have your blessing to marry your sister."
Finnick said to me running his hands through his hair nervously. I sighed in relief. Of course I would give him my blessing. Ever since he came into our lives, she's been the happiest I had ever seen her, even in pain.
"Of course you can Finnick!"
I told him as a tear of happiness and relief fell from my face as I hugged him.
Finnick pulled away to show me a box. He opened the small box to reveal the prettiest ring I've ever seen.
"This is the ring, do you think she'll like it?"
Finnick asked me.
"Sabrina would say yes to you even if you gave her a paper ring, Finnick. But yes she'll love it."
I told him. He smiled at me and shoved the small box into his pocket.

We walked back into the room to see a doctor talking to one of the nurses beside Sabrina.
"Finnick Odair? August Bailey?"
The doctor asked as we came in.
"Yes?"
Finnick asked walking up to the doctor.
"We're going to move Sabrina and Johanna into separate rooms, if you would like to follow us, you are more than welcome to."
The doctor told us as he started to move her bed. He took us down about four rooms and entered a smaller room than the one before. He set up her vitals and left us to be with her.
"Oh also only one person can stay with her at night."
The doctor told us.
"You should stay."
I told Finnick. He turned to look at me shaking his head.
"No, no, she's your sister.  She'll want to see you."
Finnick told me.
"No Finnick I know you want to be with her."
I told him crossing my arms.  He looked down at his feet then back up at me.
"Thank you."
He smiled giving me a side hug.
"Anytime, future brother in law."
I joked to him leaving the room.

Sabrina's Pov

I woke up in a different, smaller room.  There was a window to the left of my bed, the sun shined through.  I looked over to the clock up on the wall.
8:00 am.  I looked over to my right to see Finnick sitting in a chair beside my bed, his head rested on the side of my bed.  I cringed in pain as I sat up in the bed.  I reached my hand over to him and ran my fingers through his bronze curls. He cares so much. How could anyone not love him, he was the sweetest and most caring person.  I felt so bad that he had to sleep in that uncomfortable chair.  I moved his curls to the side, to see his face.  He looked like an angel when he slept and not to mention that the sun shined oh so perfectly on his face.
"I love you so much."
I whispered wholeheartedly.
I saw him smile, putting his dimples on full display. He peaked one eye open.
"Good morning baby."
I whispered.
"Good morning gorgeous."
He said kissing my forehead.
"Im sorry you had to sleep in the chair."
I told him sympathetically cupping his face. He leaned into my hand as I brushed my thumb over his cheek. He kissed my hand while looking at me with his loving eyes.
"It's okay, I wanted to stay with you."
Finnick told me.
"Finnick you didn't have to."
I told him moving my hand back up to his perfect curls, his messy hair that laid perfectly against his forehead.
His hand reached up to touch mine, bringing it down as he held my hand in his.
"I wanted to.  I wanted to because I love you Sabrina."
Finnick told me getting up to kiss my lips.

Finnick continued to stay by my side throughout my whole recovery. He was always there with his encouraging words and his perfect smile.
It took a few days but with help of the medicine the hospital provided my pain went down to almost none. I was able to finally leave the hospital and to my apartment that I shared with August and Finnick. August had her own room across from me and Finnick's shared room. It was a small apartment and perfect just for us.

I awoke to the sun shining on my face through the window next to mine and Finnick's bed. As I was about to get up out of bed I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist pulling me to their chest.
"Mhm stay."
Finnick mumbled against the back of my neck as he started to pepper my neck with soft gentle kisses. I relaxed into his embrace as he snuggled his head into the crook of my neck.
"Finnick we can't stay here forever."
I whispered to him as his grip tightened around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"Yes we can."
Finnick mumbled against my skin. I turned to face him placing my hands on his chest.
"Finnick."
I told him sternly.
"Sabrina."
He mocked me. I faked an offended gasp as I playfully pushed his shoulder. He laughed planting little kisses all over my face. I smiled at his antics till we heard a knock on our door.
"I'm going out with some friends, I'll be back later!"
August told us from the other side of the door. I got up out of the bed to see her. I opened the door to see her.
"Have fun, be safe okay?"
I told her hugging her.
She looked at me then to Finnick.
"Can I ask you guys something?"
August asked walking into our room. I sat her down at the edge of the bed as I sat next to her. Finnick came and sat beside me, holding my hand.
"There's this guy, he said he's from district 6, and I think I like him. I don't know. How did you guys know when you liked each other?"
August asked us. I smiled at her, her first crush.
"We didn't know, I just couldn't live without telling her how I felt, even if she said no. Turns out she liked me too. You just have to take the risk."
Finnick told her wrapping his arm around my waist.
"I don't want to ruin the friendship we have though. And I've tried to give him signs but he doesn't seem to understand."
August told us frustrated.
"August. Boys are stupid, even if you give the most obvious signs they still won't have a clue. And if this ruins the friendship then it wasn't worth keeping in the first place."
I told her.
"Hey! I wasn't oblivious!"
Finnick told me offended.
"Finnick Odair, don't lie."
I told him hitting his leg.
August laughed at us.
"Go for it."
I told August, kissing her forehead goodbye. Once August left the apartment Finnick looked at me.
"I am not oblivious."
He told me. I laughed rolling my eyes.
"Finnick! Everyone knew even back in middle school."
I told him.
"So you liked me since then?"
Finnick asked smirking at me. He pulled me down on the bed. I picked myself up off the bed. I gently kissed his lips leaving the bed and headed to the closet. I pulled out the uniform given to us by President Coin.
"I'm going to go check on Katniss."
I told him on my way to the bathroom to change.
"Nooo don't leave me."
Finnick whined.
"You can come with me!"
I told him from the bathroom. I heard his little kiddish laugh. I came out to see him already changed. I had my uniform on while my hair was down and curled. He took my hand in his as we walked to where Katniss was being held after the incident with Peeta.

Finnick wanted to take the long way to the hospital wing.  We walked hand in hand outside, white roses still scattered all over the ground from Snow's attack while I was still captured by the capital.  There was a spot that had a circle of red roses with white ones in the middle.  Finnick led me to the middle of the circle then stopped.
"So I know that I already asked you, but you deserve better than that, Sabrina you deserve the world.  You are my world.  Sometimes I just look at you and wonder why you picked me.  You've seen me in all my worst days and my best days, and I've seen yours.  When they told me that they couldn't get you from the arena I felt like my entire life had just crumbled down because you are my everything.  I want to spend every waking moment with you, Sabrina.  And I want to grow old with you, and have kids of our own. I guess what I'm trying to say is... Will you marry me?"
Finnick said to me kneeling down onto one knee, tears pricking his eyes.  He opened a small box from his pocket, it had the most gorgeous ring inside.  I slapped my hands over my mouth as happy tears fell down my face. I jumped onto Finnick repeatedly telling him 'yes!'.  Finnick sat me down on his knee and slid the ring on my ring finger.  I smashed my lips onto his grabbing his face he kissed me back with even more passion.
"I love you, future Mrs. Odair."
Finnick teased against my lips.
"I love you more, Mr Odair."
I whispered back to him planting his a gentle kiss on his lips.
