Kaylee walked with Mitchell for a while longer, talking about a wide range of things, from their pastimes to their favorite snacks, and everything in between. Neither of them had realized just how long they had been out walking around until Kaylee's stomach began to growl softly, and a light blush dusted across her cheeks.
Chuckling, Mitchell gave her a small smile. "Would you like to stop somewhere and get something to eat?" He asked her kindly, and Kaylee easily agreed.
"I would love to stop and get something to eat." She responded, a pleasant and beautiful smile on her lips. Mitchell nodded, his expression brightening a bit when she accepted his invitation.
"Fantastic." He said. "There's a place just around the corner that has the best fish and chips. Shall we?" Mitchell extended his arm out to Kaylee, who gladly accepted, linking her arm through his, a small and happy laugh bubbling out of her before she could stop it.
"I think we shall." She agreed. With a small, synchronized nod, they made their way down the street and around the corner. Mitchell guided them to a small café on the corner, holding open the door for Kaylee and giving her a bow, earning him a bright smile and silent giggle. Kaylee found them a table while Mitchell went and ordered for the both of them, joining her quickly afterwards, taking his seat across from her at the booth she had chosen.
"So," Kaylee asked, a small yet still gorgeous grin on her lips, "Now that I know your favorite snacks and colors and pass times, I want to know what you do for a living."
A chuckle escaped Mitchell's lips before he could stop it, and he returned her small grin. "I work at the hospital." He said, and Kaylee's eyes widened slightly, her smile brightening a bit.
"You're a doctor?"
"Well, uh, no, not exactly." Mitchell chuckled softly, shaking his head slightly, a very light blush on his cheeks. "I'm a janitor. I work there with my flatmate, George. It's not exactly glamorous, but it pays the bills, so I'm not complaining."
Kaylee blushed lightly in embarrassment, stammering out an apology. "Oh, uh, I'm sorry... I hope I didn't embarrass you, that wasn't my intention..." she stammered. Mitchell simply chuckled softly and shook his head, gently taking one of Kaylee's hands gently in his own.
"Kaylee, it's fine. You're not the first one to make that assumption. It's fine, really, I'm not embarrassed."
After a few more moments of assurances from Mitchell, Kaylee finally believed him, smiling slightly when their food arrived.
