Forty-eight minutes later
Luca yawned, removing his glasses, then set them down before shutting off his devices. He had sent out emails to everyone and finalized an order that he had previously surveyed in person. He stood and left his office, turning off the lights as he walked down the hall, looking for his partner. He had given Jared something to think about in his moment of weakness and now wondered if he had done the right thing. "Jared?" He looked into the kitchen and saw a covered dish. There was food waiting for him, huh? Jare rarely cooked due to his schedule. Luca had never minded it, but this was a nice surprise. Baked chicken, lentils, and baked macaroni and cheese with his famous cheese sauce and steamed veggies. He hummed and took up the plate, heading to heat it up when he realized that he hadn't heard Jared reply... was he asleep? Back to work? He put the food in the fridge and rushed over to Jared's office, finding it empty with the lights off. It was quiet. "What the fuck?" He moved through the house, checking every room until he reached their bedroom, stopping before the closed door. Was Jared in there? If he did not find him, then where would he have gone, and why? Luca reached for the handle and turned it, praying that he was there. Yes, he could call his cell, but... after what he did with urging Jared on, he rather not show such worry. The bedroom was shrouded in darkness. Luca flicked on the lights to reveal an empty bedroom. "Jared?" He whispered cautiously.
"Yes, love?" Jared walked out of their bathroom in his long black robe, finding a startled Luca.
He looked freshly showered, his dark curls still damp and clinging to his skin, which glowed slightly. "You cooked. Uh, umm, thank you." Luca said, Jare nodded.
"Yes, well you were busy, so I thought it would be best to make you a meal. Did you eat, already?" He asked, removing the towel around his waist, to begin dabbing his hair dry.
Luca fumbled with his words, then gathered his bearings. "Umm, no. Uh, not yet. I'm... I was wondering where you were." Jared rose a brow.
"Why? I would tell you if I was leaving. Why do you look so flustered?" Jared walked up to him, leaving the towel over his head with the longer ends draped over his shoulders. He cupped his lover's face and hummed. "Luc, you may need to eat. You look pale."
"Uhh, no. I'm fine. How are you—nothing. Forget it. I was just wondering if you had left the apartment." Luca muttered.
"Oh." Jared laughed at that. "Why would I? I have nothing to do outside. No work, all my friends are busy with work and my lover is home. Nothing is out there for me. Why did you think that?" He wanted to smile, but it would be ill-advised to wipe that confused look off Luc's face so early on.
"I... I don't know. I just thought." Luca couldn't take his eyes off his partner. Why did he get a strange feeling of dread? Luca shook off the odd air and reached out to touch Jare's waist, his soft skin cool in his hands. Jared hummed and removed them from him, stepping away.
"No touching. This second shower is partly due to you, so, no."
"No?" Luca gazed upon his lover as he walked away from him, his toned ass distracting him while he moved to their walk-in closet. "How did I..." he trailed off after realizing what Jared meant... his office. Damn, he knew he shouldn't have teased him, but Jare won't deny him some intimate indulgence, would he? He swallowed softly when the younger one bent to open the bottom drawer of the dresser. Fuck. His cock twitched at the lewd sight of buttcheeks parting slightly.
"Done working?" Jared asked as he retrieved a pair of gray briefs that he had forgotten about. He normally wore boxers, but he remembered getting these because Luca got turned on seeing his ass in them. He smirked and stood up slipping them on. "Luc?" He called, noticing that the older one hadn't answered him yet.
