CHAPTER 4:
"So what are you guys gonna have?" Sam asked us.
"Fruit pie!" I almost yelled. Yes it was my favourite, and the moment I entered the place I spotted one. This place was going down in my 'favourites' list, I could tell.
We all placed our order and settled at a table. This place was beautiful. It had bright walls and wooden flooring, and the tables had glass tops through which you could see a lot of pebbles.
I was looking around, admiring the cafe when I saw Aarush a few tables across our's. He had ordered a Fruit Pie too, much to my dismay. He was flirting with the waitress, typical of him.
"Yuummm. This is the most delicious brownie ever!" said Ree. "Totally!" Tanya agreed. That distracted me from glaring at Aarush's back.
"Hey Tee, how's the pie?" Sam asked. "Super. Wanna try some?" I pushed my plate towards him. "Nope. I'm fine. Its good to see you eating for once." he said in a serious tone. I had to stop myself from snapping at him. I could feel my eyes prickle and had to look away. If only life was easy.

"OMG! Tee is it really you? Or am I hallucinating?" Ree was shocked to see me sitting on my front porch waiting for her. I waved at her and ran towards her car. "What happened to you?" she asked, her eyes wide. "I couldn't sleep. Maddy's coming home today." I happy danced. "That's great." she smiled. "Today nothing can spoil my mood." I smiled back. "Yeah. We have our dance class after school today." she said. Dance class was the only thing I loved about school. I loved dancing, getting lost in the music. It was amazing how there were so many forms of dancing, each different from the other. It was Tanya who had got us enrolled for this when we were in the third grade. She had to blackmail us into signing up. But after a week or so we realised it was fun, and that we actually enjoyed it.
My first class was Math. I didn't hate the subject, but I wasn't very fond of it either. While Sam was an expert at numbers, Ree hated Math. She had a dart board in her room, with Maths written on it, which made her feelings towards the subject quite evident.
Time passed quickly, and before I could realise it was time for dance class. We dumped our books in our lockers and headed for the mini-auditorium. Once inside we all settled down and waited for Mrs. Iyer. She was our dance teacher, and we all admired her. She was extremely talented and was a sweet woman. And we all loved how she called us Rockstars.
When Mrs. Iyer entered, we all stood up and greeted her. "Rockstars, as you all know, the Dance-a-thon is in a month. And this year I've decided that we'll perform three different styles. So I'll have to divide you all into three different groups. Also we have a new member who will be joining us in a while." she informed us. As soon as she finished, we all broke into excited chatter.
Once we were divided into groups, the practise began. However, I had to wait for the new guy who was supposed to be my partner. I had mixed feelings about this. Firstly, I didn't know this guy and how well he danced. Secondly, co-ordinating with someone new was going to take a lot of efforts, since I was a little shy around people I didn't know.
I was lost in my thoughts when the door opened. And in walked my new dance partner, with his trademark grin, shattering all my hopes.
