ICSY 04: I See You

The day has come that Kira hasn't looking forward to. Today was the day her roommate would arrive. Other than that she also has to find a club before the day ends or else she'll be forced to face the principal again. She was still mad that he took her privilege of having a solo room and went through her things. But she can't do anything about it anymore.

Kira woke up early to get a shower and get in her uniform early. If she still has her old room, she doesn't need to prepare as early as she is doing now. But thanks to the new principal, she now needs to go to the cafeteria and eat there. Kira wasn't the one who always went to her classes too. Only when it's needed. When Weems was still alive, she didn't force the girl because of a few reasons. First, Kira doesn't need to go to school anymore. After living for years, she's like a vampire now. Second, even if Kira is still in the body of a teenage girl, and somehow thinks like them, she refuses to go with them. But it's not like she can go with elders too. So she doesn't have a choice. Third, Kira has a way to be updated on school events without needing to attend one. No, it's not a phone. It's much cooler than you think.

Kira grabbed her bag and the paper that she pinned on her board. The same paper that the principal had given her. Her roommate won't arrive until the fourth period so she guessed she'd use her free time to search for a club. She already has a few clubs that she chose to join. She made sure that the ones she'd be choosing had fewer members.

The ginger left their hall and walked to the cafeteria. It's still early so there are still only a few students. She purposedly avoids the large crowd. She may lived for two hundred years, but she never forced herself to learn to interact with people. Well at least physically.

"Hi!"

Kira jumped in surprise as a black-haired girl appeared in front of her. She's wearing the same Nevermore uniform but with pants, compared to Kira who's wearing the usual uniform for girls. The girl is wearing dark shades, protection from the sun as it's already out. Kira quickly scanned the girl and she immediately recognized her.

"Yoko," Kira said barely interested, and already lowered her guard. The situation was reversed now. The vampire was left surprised as she didn't expect Kira to know her. How come she knows her but the vampire doesn't? Easy question, no one's interested in talking to awkward loners. As for Kira, she is barely seen around the campus. Either of the two may be the reason.

"Hey, you know me!" Yoko gasped. Kira walked her way to a vacant table and Yoko followed her.

"Of course. We had a couple of classes together last year." Kira informed. It is the same class she barely attends too.

"Really? But I haven't seen you once." Yoko whispered forgetting that the girl was literally sitting beside her.

Kira just shrugged as she continued to eat. She may hate interacting with people and being around them physically, but she's hungry and she won't let that awkward tense ruin her eating schedule.

"If you haven't, how come you know me?" Kira asked. She's really curious. She's been in Nevermore for four years but you can only count on one hand the people she talked to more than once. That has to be Weems, the former botany teacher, and that one siren boy that she made him pose as the leader of their group project. She had to talk to him because she didn't want to talk with the other members. Kira knew that the siren boy was friends with the vampire.

"Oh! I have a friend who recognized you. You see, Ajax, if you know him. He's a gorgon. And he asked my best friend, Enid, she's a werewolf, about you. But Enid doesn't know you. So she asked the others and Divina, my siren girlfriend, has a twin brother, who is also a siren, Kent. He said that he knows you." Bingo. That Kent. That has to be the boy Kira had worked with last year. "But Wednesday gave me the whole description. Ginger, blue eyes, and 5'3 tall. It's not hard to spot one here in Nevermore."
