ICSY 21: 2 Witches and A Devil

Kira knew that everyone in town would go crazy the moment she stepped foot on the Galler's lawn. They believe that the worst scenario could happen if the 'devil's child' is seen with the family of the witches.

So, seeing the eyes of the people in town with different vile reactions was something she expected. But what she couldn't take was how blatantly fake these people were. They would smile at Kira's parents as he was known as one of the best people in town... Kira often thinks that these people just see how useful her father is. Just like how people react whenever they praise the Galler, yet spread rumors that they were witches.

But she doesn't have a choice. All she could do was stand near her parents, who were oblivious to the situation, and her best friend, who was just like her parents; the only difference was Hannah would check on Kira, making sure she was still on Earth. Because of course, no one likes to be surrounded by fake people. Kira could easily leave, not physically, and they wouldn't let her.

"Spare me, please!" Kira rolled her eyes as she muttered these words under her breath.

Later that moment, Kira spotted someone not so far away who was also... eyeing her. Take note: everyone was looking at Kira rather than her parents, who were casually conversing with the small-town mongers.

Kira looked around, checking if she was seeing it right. If the person she spotted amid the crowd was looking at her. She even looked at her best friend checking if Hannah was also aware of the situation... Kira was being watched, at least what she thought of. Don't get her wrong, that was the last thing she wanted to happen. Unfortunately for her, this person was looking at her.

And she was no stranger to Kira. Or at least what she already has considered...

The stranger smirked and by default, Kira had chills. She didn't even notice that she was gripping tight on Hannah's sleeve, making her best friend check after her.

"Kira."

Kira was snapped out of her thoughts. When she looked at her best friend, she could see how disturbed she was through Hannah's eyes.

Okay, that's too much. But Kira could see her reaction from Hannah's response. Hannah's default protection made Kira assume that her best friend was half aware of what was happening.

Half aware because she didn't even see the stranger, which made Kira react that way. But she sure knew something was up.

"What is wrong?"

"Did you see that?" Kira asked as her eyes jumped to the spot where the stranger was.

"See what?" Hannah followed where Kira was looking, only to see a bunch of people gossiping about... Well, who else could be? "Ignore it, they will stop eventually."

"No, it was the girl."

"Girl?"

"The girl from yes-" Kira stopped as she remembered the bizarre morning she had just woken into.

"From what?"

Kira shook her head. Hannah doesn't even remember they went out last night. Or at least, Kira went out and Hannah followed her. She didn't remember that Kira ran to the forest when she heard a loud growl and found a girl who was 'about to get gobbled' by a bear. She didn't remember that the girl they encountered was what they assumed was a witch. All of these, for some reason, Kira's best friend doesn't remember.

"Forget it."

Those words would be the same words Kira would say to herself. Night has come, and Kira shut her eyes. She could hear Hannah's breathing along with the sound of the leaves getting brushed by the wind outside her window. Kira knew that she wouldn't be sleeping anytime soon.
