(Y/n) Pov:
After the master's visit, I had apparently fallen asleep and woke up later in the day. The window that allowed the natural light to enter my room now was filled with the darkening sunset as the city lights became more pronounced and noticeable. I sat up and stretched my arms above my head, hearing the satisfying 'pop' of my joints. I pushed off the blanket and looked down at my bandaged leg, a small red stain making itself visible under the white wrap. It might have ripped or something while I was asleep, but I knew that if anything seriously bad happened, I would just need to call Miss Kocho.
Swinging my legs over the side of the bed, I allowed them to dangle off the edge, stretching them after I got comfortable enough to do so. I decided not to stretch my right leg too much as I did not want to rip the stitches or make them worse. A soft yawn left my lips as I hopped off the bed, landing on my feet with a soft 'thud'. I grabbed my crutch from beside the bed and tucked it under my arm, allowing the weight of my right side to fall onto the piece of metal.
Making my way to the door, I opened it slowly and peeked my head into the hallway. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, the hallway was clear of people and almost no sound could be heard. A small growl left my stomach as I realized that I must have gained a small appetite while I was asleep which was out of the ordinary, but my train of thought got broken by another small grumble. I made my way to the elevator after closing the door behind me.
I clicked the button to the elevator and watched as the metal door slowly slid open. I walked inside and quickly pressed the button that I remembered Miss Kocho pressing earlier as it was on the same floor where the food court was. The ride down was silent, not even the elevator music was playing. It freaked me out slightly, but I paid no mind to it as I felt myself slowly descend.
The elevator came to an abrupt halt, making it jerk violently, my body soon lost balance and I fell on my knees despite the support I got from the crutch I was using. 'Did the elevator shut down?' Am I stuck? What happened?'. Millions of questions popped into my head as I tried to assess the situation, but a small 'ding' reached my ears, drawing my attention to the door as it slowly slid open. The hallway I was looking down was not the one from the agency but instead looked more like the hallway I was dragged down when I went to meet Muzan. I could feel my heart rate increase as flashbacks of the memories of that horrible day flooded back into my mind.
Two strong arms soon wrapped around my arms, my eyes immediately flying to the source only to come in contact with gold and blue eyes and the rainbow eyes that I dreaded the most. I could feel my fear rising, but was caught off guard as my chin was grabbed and forced forward only to come in contact with blood-red eyes staring into my own.
"You thought you could escape didn't you?" the man asked. His pale white skin glistened in the light as he stared into my terrified eyes. 'Muzan'. Giant beads of sweat formed and soon fell down my neck and face the longer I looked into his eyes. My fear was beyond measure as the confrontation seemed to not end.
"(Y/n)" my eyes widened when I heard my name.
"Stupid girl" Muzan said, gaining my attention back to him. Laughter flooded from the mouths of the two men holding my arms.
"(Y/n)!" the same voice came to my head again, a little louder this time.
"You won't be able to run forever" Muzan gained my attention back to him.
"(Y/N)!"
"We will always find you", my eyes filled with tears as my body shook.
"(Y/N)!"
My eyes shot open as my body shot forward into a sitting position. My adrenaline had my heart beating frantically, my body sweating, my mind racing. I couldn't concentrate on the person yelling my name. My hands gripped the sheets tightly until my knuckles turned white. Tears streamed down my face as the haunting memories flooded into my mind rapidly.
Two large hands grabbed my arms, making my attention shoot to them, only for me to push against their hold and try to get away from them.
"STOP! DON'T HURT ME AGAIN! PLEASE!" I cried as I thrashed around, trying to free myself from the strong hold of the man.
"(Y/n)! Calm down... it's just me" my eyes landed on the man as their figure began to become less blurry and the tears in my eyes fell down my cheeks, not obscuring my vision anymore. White hair and magenta eyes soon met my own as my breathing slowly calmed down. "It's just me, calm down" Tengen said as he loosened the grip on my arms. My heart rate slowly went down the longer I realized the situation I was in.
"W- what ha- happened?" I asked, my voice shaking as I slowly got over the adrenaline rush.
"You were crying and frantically moving in your sleep, I had to wake you up" Tengen said calmly allowing his hands to fall onto my own, giving them a firm squeeze of reassurance. I took a shaky breath as I realized that what I had witnessed was merely a nightmare.
"I'm sorry, I had a nightmare" I muttered as I looked down at my hands being enveloped by Tengen's.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked, catching me quite off guard. In the anime, Tengen was shown as being arrogant and kind of selfish with those whom he didn't find that close to him, so seeing him act this way with me was rather surprising.
"I- in the dream" I paused, taking a much-needed breath, "I woke up and it was sunset, I walked to my door and looked outside and noticed that no one was around, it was then that I noticed that I was hungry and decided to go back down to the food court to hopefully grab some food to satisfy my hunger" Tengen seemed to be listening intently as he gave my hands a firm squeeze and nodded his head gingerly. "When I pressed the button to go down, I noticed that the music in the elevator was not playing, and not too long after the elevator came to an abrupt halt, making me lose balance and fall to my knees. The door slowly slid open and revealed a hallway, but the hallway was the exact same as the one from where I was taken when I was abducted by Kibutsuji" a small tear fell down my cheek as I hated having to remember both the encounter, and the nightmare.
"You don't have to finish" Tengen started as he gripped my hands tightly, but soft enough to where it would remain comfortable. "I don't want to force you to remember those horrible events, I can already picture what happened by what you told me already" My shaking form soon caught his attention, so he quickly reached forward and wrapped my small form into a firm hug. His large arms were giant compared to me, but I mainly focussed on the warmth and comfort the ex-shinobi was giving me.
"I can't make you forget what happened" Tengen paused, "but I can help you cope" he muttered the last part, strengthening his hold slightly, pulling me firmly into his chest.
"Thank you Tengen," I said, wrapping my arms around his chest, even though my arms couldn't reach around him.
"Of course" he muttered, placing his chin on top of my head.
