Where did my best friend go?

We've been friends for seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years, decades, and still, I have no idea where you've gone

Maybe it's me, maybe it's you

Do you remember when we used to go to the zoo? And look at the animals stuck in those cages, meanwhile, these moments were writing the pages of memories I will remember for ages

Do you remember when we said if we weren't married by 32, we would marry each other? Because I would still do that for you, by the way, how is your mother?

I know there's no excuse for the way that I treated you

But we never argued, never                                                                                                                                                And I thought that you'd be my best friend forever

But forever doesn't last                                                                                                                                                         In my mind, our friendship was made out of glass

Once the pieces broke, they could never be put back together in a way that would be so very clever

That the water wouldn't slip through the cracks and break the friendship that would never last
