LOUIS AND JULIETTE walked through the fairly empty streets of london, having ditched her release party. louis walked on the right side of the pavement, keeping jules shielded from the road. they walked in comfortable silence, the only sound coming from a few people walking on the other side of the road and a couple cars driving by.

' guess what.' juliette broke the silence, a small smile on her face as she looked down at her shoes. louis glanced over to her and smiled from just seeing her smile. he hummed in response, gesturing for her to continue, ' you won't believe it.'

' i'm sure i will.' louis chuckled.

' you know how i used to be obsessed with hunger games?' jules' smile grew more. louis thought back to the times when she had forced him and the other kids on set to reenact the reaping scene and the blood bath when she was 10.

' how could i forget? i remember you crying because ava wanted to be katniss one time, and you were desperate to be katniss because you learnt a ton of her lines off by heart.' juliette burst out laughing at this, having mostly forgotten that memory.

' and you were peeta and...' jules paused for a moment, furrowing her eyebrows as she thought, ' jack was gale, right?'

louis nodded, ' i was jealous of jack. i always wanted to be gale, i thought peeta was lame.'

jules hummed and glanced over at him, ' i've always preferred peeta over gale.'

louis smiled even more at this.

' anyway, you'll never guess who the hunger games producers asked to write a song for the new movie...' she bit her lip as she watched him process the information.

' no way!' louis gasped, pulling her into a hug, ' that's so amazing oh my god!'

jules giggled, ' do you want to hear the song so far?'

louis pulled away, his hand still gently resting on her arm, nodding enthusiastically. juliette pulled out her phone and fiddled with it for a moment, and then louis felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, and saw that she had sent him a voice note.

just as he was about to play it, jules stopped him.

' don't play it in front of me, i'll be embarrassed. play it later.'

louis obliged and put his phone back in his jean pocket, and they continued walking in a comfortable silence.

suddenly, louis felt juliette grabbing his arm and pulling him to the left, inside of a small coffee shop.

' this is my favourite café in london.' she told him as they entered, but louis was only really focusing on the fact that her hand was still holding on to his arm.

a little bell rang above the door and the man at the counter looked up from his phone and smiled at the pair as they entered.

' hi uncle sam.' juliette grinned, leading louis to the counter. the boy looked up at the signs, above the counter with menus written on them, fairy lights illuminating the room.

' hi lia.' juliette's favourite uncle was the only one who ever called her lia, and he had been calling her it since she was born, ' haven't seen you in a while.'

' i was in new york for a bit.' jules' nose and tips of her ears were rosy pink as she spoke, affected from the contrast of temperate from the cold streets to the warm and cozy café.

' ah, that makes sense. i heard your new album, lia. it's very good, but i tell you what, if i catch that boy who broke your heart i'll slap him silly.' juliette laughed at this. uncle sam paused before continuing, ' did you visit your dad in america?'

jules went quiet for a moment, ' no, i didn't.'

' you should visit him at some point. i know you two aren't that close now, but he still loves you, lia. you know that, don't you?' her uncle watched as she looked down at her shoes, nodding.

' yeah. you're right. i'll try and see him soon. mum's in paris at the moment, so i should visit her too.' she agreed.

uncle sam smiled before looking over at louis, who was still observing his surroundings of the café.
his eyes looked from where juliette's hand was still holding onto louis' arm and then gave his niece a knowing look, raising his eyebrows with a smirk.

juliette blushed and removed her hand from louis' arm, sending her uncle a glare. this got louis' attention, and he glanced down at his arm and noticed juliette's hand was now missing. his arm felt colder now, and he attempted to hide his disappointment.

the brunette cleared her throat and looked up at the menu's before turning to the boy beside her, ' what do you fancy?'

' what do you recommend?' louis smiled at her.

' i'm getting a hot chocolate, they're my favourite.' she suggested, and he nodded.

' i'll have a hot chocolate then.' he told jules' uncle, who smiled warmly.

' do you want to sit near the window?' jules asked.

' yeah, sure.' louis took her bag for her and went over to the seat.

uncle sam's eyes watched louis, then turned to juliette. he leaned in closer and told her, ' i like this boy. seems far nicer than that james lad.'

' you mean joshua?' juliette corrected, turning even more red.

' oh right, joshua.' uncle sam rolled his eyes, ' didn't like him. or that other guy, timothée. this one's my favourite.'

jules gestured for her uncle to lower his voice, hoping louis hadn't heard the conversation.

but he had, and was now trying to hide the smile that painted itself on his lips as he listened.
