My idea... I must talk to Edann. I shall tell him my suspicions and true stories of users within a relationship. Then, I'll tell him that I'll be there to talk to him when he needs me. I must think of when... I decided to do it right at this moment.
I walk to Edann's and Olivia's room.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
"Come in, " Edann says quietly.
I walk in and sit next to Edann on the bed.
"Edann, why didn't you go shopping with Olivia?" I ask.
"Well, I'm not so sure about Olivia lately. It's just something doesn't seem right." He says sounds stressed.
"I understand. I see that something is up too. The fortune teller, the album incident, or her not encouraging you to go with her to the store. How come she just didn't say anything?" I say trying to escalate Edann's feelings about Olivia.
"See, what you're saying is giving me more thought on Olivia. I'm just- sorry- I feel like she's losing my trust. Can you help me figure out if I'm just overreacting?"
I see my chance to say yes, but I know that is too eager so I suggest something more subtle, "Well, sometimes, people wear masks. They hide who they are and it's very deceiving."
"I see, how are you so knowledgeable. At this point, I feel as if you are more trustworthy." Edann whispers nearly in tears.
I nearly smile and decide to suggest a book I read about trust and loyalty, "I've read multiple books about trust and loyalty in people. I've also read multiple books with the truth and lessons in them. I suggest reading "The Tears That Taught Me" or "The Thin Book Of Trust." They taught me life lessons, emotions, and trust. I want to help you, Edann. I hope you understand that if someone isn't there for you, I will."
"Thanks so much, Hana. I'll look into those books. You don't understand what this means to me. Now, after this small conversation, I feel like I chose my person wrong. You know?" Edann says smiling at me.
I almost blush. "Thanks, Edann. That's what friends are for. I care about you, and I just wanted to acknowledge the facts so you don't get trapped in a pit of sorrow and regret. I'll leave you be now, so you can just think of what to do next, I'm not going to force you since it's your decision."
Edann smiles and says, "Okay. Wait, before you leave, I just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry for forgetting to get you breakfast yesterday. It was an accident. I really hope you understand. Like, I severely apologize."
I almost shed a tear. He is so sweet. "Yes, it's okay, Edann I understand completely. You don't have to be sorry."
"Wow, you are such a good person. You know, I really like you, Hana. You seem like you have very good human traits."
"Thanks, Edann. You too. I hope you'll make your mind up about Olivia soon. I'll talk to you later."
I close the door behind me and think of our conversation we just had. Wow. It went really well. I think one little push could break the bond between Edann and Olivia. I just must think of it.
I sit down on the couch and think... maybe she would play truth or dare at dinner. I know Olivia always picks dare because she doesn't want to reveal secret so that might just do it.
By now, it's noon. So I fix myself a lunch, then read for a while. I decided to pull out my copy of "Gone Girl" so that I might be able to give it to Edann later.
Edann walk into the kitchen shortly later.
"Hey, Edann. I have a copy of "Gone Girl" I'll let you borrow it. No need to deny. I feel that you really need it."
"Oh- I- Thanks, Hana, I'll read it now actually."
Edann walk to his room and starts to ready.
NATHAN'S POV
I sit alone in my room and think of this morning. I also think of the fortune teller. Who's keeping the secret. Is it Tiffany? I sure hope not. I just don't know why she wasn't hesitant to leave me this morning. I hope it's nothing.
I decided to read, so I walk to my book shelf and look at the books I have. I make my decision to read one of my "One Piece" comic, but then suddenly I hear a knock on my bedroom door.
Knock
Knock
Knock
And Knock...
"Come in," I say.
Edann walks into my room holding a book. "Hey, Nathan. Hana recommended me a book today. She recommended me "Gone Girl." She even lent me her copy. I started reading it, and it's actually really good. I just wanted to recommend it to you, Nathan. I just figured you were bored. Besides I've just wanted to take a break from Olivia right now."
"Oh- thanks, Edann. I'll think I have "Gone Girl" on my shelf." Nathan scans the shelf for the book. "There, I found it. Thanks, Edann. Sorry about Olivia by the way."
"It's okay. I'm going to continue reading. I'll see you soon," Edann says as he walked away and closes the door behind him.
I sit on my bed and open the book. Then I realize I forgot to read the back cover of the book so I turn it over and read it.
"Who are you? What have we done to each other? These are the questions Nick Dunne finds himself asking on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police suspect Nick. Amy's friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn't true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they weren't made by him. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone."
I feel a shiver run down my spine. It sounds so realistic. As if Tiffany could be doing the same right now. I decide to read the book so I could possibly find clues in reality. If this story is being realistic, I might have to look into because I have seen frequent calls on Tiffany's phone.
I open the book to the first page and begin reading...
"When I think of my wife, I always think of her head..."
