Glue Ourselves Together

The glue we used to patch up our broken hearts
Wasn't strong enough to hold us together
As we fell apart and grew apart
The pain was too much to bear

The hopes and dreams we held so dear
Seemed to slip away into the night
As we struggled to hold on to what was real
And what was a fleeting illusion

The love we shared was once a flame
Now only embers, too cold to ignite
As we sat in silence, too lost and scared
To even try to rekindle the fire

And yet, in the midst of this gloom
A glimmer of light shone through the cracks
A spark of hope, a chance for peace
If we could only find the strength to take

The steps to heal, to be whole again
To build a life, not just survive
To love each other, without conditions
And to find joy, in spite of the strife

For in the darkness, there is always a light
That can guide us home, and bring us to life
So let's hold tight to what we have left
And glue ourselves together, with all our might.
