Normalcy:A Very Half-Blood Fanfiction

Chapter One

Author's Note:

This first chapter will be mostly Annabeth reminiscing some past incidents and hence there won't be much action,though there will be some cute Percabeth moments! ;)

AND BTW I'll BE FOLLOWING BRITISH ENGLISH so please don't comment that I've spelled words wrong cuz I haven't!!! ;)

ANNABETH'S POV:

It was a beautiful sunset. The sea and the lower sky were stained red by the orange hued blazing orb of Life, as He moved downwards, seemingly to pay a visit to the Realm of the Waves.

Percy and me were sitting side by side on the on the soft crunchy sand on the beaches of Long Island Sound, simply being there together and enjoying each other's company.

"Wise Girl,we should leave now."said Percy,his mesmerizingly beautiful sea-green eyes still gazing over the dominion of his father.

"Its almost time for the the campfire."

"Lets just stay for another 15 minutes",I replied.

He raised an eyebrow which didn't surprise me.It wasn't like me to be unpunctual.

"Something bothering you? Is it those Stolls again? I swear I'll beat them to a pulp the next time I see -"

"No Percy , Its not them.",I cut in.

"Its nothing really. I just need time. So much has changed since-you know what, its just not easy to adjust now."

I could see he got what I meant.

During our quest against her Majesty Potty-Face, every moment which passed was a struggle for existence.We hardly even had time to rest. At that time we didn't really have time to think about what we were doing. But now when we had ,I felt impure and unclean recollecting all those horrors we had gone through and it wasn't a feeling which could just be shaken away or anything.

Then my thoughts wandered to Leo and his predicament.I know we weren't the best of buddies and that he had a crooked and lopsided sense of "humour"(if you could even call it that) , but over our adventures we had grown familiar. Losing him had been like losing a close family member.

Then to jumble my emotional capacity further, after nearly five months on Christmas eve he appears, crash landing on a new Festus(Dragon form too!) with a some pretty looking chick.

He looked different.His elfish features were more angled complimenting his mischevious eyes,he had grown at least three inches and had that ragged wild look of someone wandering around all kinds of wildernesses without proper gear.

At first it was confusion,then ecstatic shock,then just elation.All of us actually went to hug that dork!

That Princess girl shyly stepped forward near Leo.I had happened to see Percy's face,he had a surprised but embarassed and shameful look which caught my curiosity.I cast a questioning glance at him and he just mouthed the word Calypso.

I glanced back to her in surprise,Calypso?The Calypso from Ogygia?

She had that royal look in her face,almond shaped dark amber eyes and hair somewhere between chocolate brown and golden blonde.Her clothes were spick and span clean even though they were patched and worn out in several places like Leo's which except that his were coated with what appeared like months of grime and dirt.

This didn't surprise since boys hardly have any sense of sanitation.

She turned towards Percy and I nudged him forward since he was rooted in position looking like the Statue of Shame.Boys can be such dorks!

Taking the hint he moved forward,went down on his knees muttering a string of heartfelt and inaudible thus incomprehensible, what I assumed were, apologies.

Calypso just smiled said something equally slowly,knelt to staighten Percy and planted a kiss on his cheek.His ears flashed a warning scarlet as he "fearfully" cast a glance at me.

I pretended to ignore what just happened and moved forward to welcome her.

That look of his was so cute I would've laughed but unluckily I was in quite an awkward situation as my boy friend was kissed by his ex(though they had never been together technically) right in front of me, even though I knew it was totally sisterly.

I was interested to see how Leo would react to this, but he appeared to be unfazed.

He caught my gaze and gave me that trademark goofy smile of his and soundlessly mouthed taht if Percy tried to cheat on me(as in Annabeth) it wouldn't be very healthy for him, and besides Caly no longer felt that way about him , so he didn't take offence.

Yes, he said all that stuff and I understood it too . I guess I'd had plenty of practice as most of the time when the two of us used to navigate the Argo II the weather was stormy and/or we were being attacked by some random Ancient Greek monster. During such times even screaming at the top of our lungs didn't help and so we had to rely on this kind of communication.

But that was 10 months ago and=

"Hey wise girl, now we really need to get our butts there or they'll be sending search parties after us",said he squeezing my shoulders leaning in for a kiss,to which I obliged.

We got up and dusted the sand off our clothes and headed towards the amphitheatre....
