chapter 25: War is on - 2

Kushi bunked 3 of Arnav sir's classes next. Spending her time in library , studying to herself. She had avoided Arnav sir successfully for these 3 days. She has not even seen him in hallways, she did not step into staff room anyway.

It was Friday and there was no class of Arnav sir. It was Arvind sir's class next , Kushi opened book of professional communication which was also Arvind sir's subject.

But someone else walked through the door who was not Arvind sir , who was the last person Kushi wanted to see. Arnav sir looked calm, he was dressed more casual today, he wore black sweatshirt and blue jeans looking ridiculously attractive.

Arnav sir: so did someone find out answer for yesterday's question?

*Few hands rose up including parth*

Arnav sir : krithika can you provide solution on board.

A girl with specs and a high ponytail made her way to the board and started scribbling solution.

Once she is done Arnav sir smiled at her and the poor girl didn't knew , was it for good or bad.

He said her to go and take her seat and she followed the orders.

Kushi sighed , she didn't knew why everything about him was annoying her to the core , the way his hair was not gelled like before , the way he smiled, his sweatshirt and his casual jeans. Who would call him lecturer. He was just looking like any other student here , she thought.

She just stared in annoyance at him.

Arnav sir : so you guys can do whatever you want , but dont be immature punks and turn the class into war zone . You can finish your assignments or just quietly doze off.

It was a miracle , Arnav sir was giving a free time . That's something new .

Payal : i guess Arnav sir is in good mood today , don't you agree?

Kushi: huh ! Whatever

Payal : love can even turn a stone into a soft toy , I guess it's his lady love's effect😉

Kushi wanted to break payal's teeth now , but instead sighed to herself and took her highlighter , pen and notes from the bag to start reading her new chapter from professional communication. She needed something to distract herself from.

She and payal sat at last bench on first row. Payal sat beside the window and Kushi at the edge. Some students started writing , reading or scribbling , some prepared for slumber , some just decided to day dream like payal.

Kushi was so immersed in her work that she didnt notice Arnav sir coming to back. He stood taking support of the wall few inches beside kushi. She forgot on which para she was in, her heartbeat seemed asymmetrical , she felt his eyes shooting daggers towards her but she didn't look back at him. Instead she tried to concentrate on what she was doing but it seemed impossible in his presence.

She randomly started to highlight few things and scribbling in her notes . At any cost she wanted ignore Arnav sir, she wanted to show he was nothing to her as she was to him , even though it was not true she wanted to show she didn't cared , she wanted to just be normal in his presence which was very difficult. Her mouth dried , she took her water bottle and took few sips.

She could still feel his eyes on her and she continued to ignore , she was praying for this class to end soon but time was moving really very slow.

Surabhi di ( senior ) asked for Arnav sir's permission to enter the class. He nodded , she came directly at back where he was standing.

Surabhi di : hello sir , if it's okay I want to take few students with me now for forming committee for upcoming cultural fest.

Arnav sir : sure, I'm not taking class anyway.

Surabhi di : Thankyou sir

She went to front and started calling names , parth was the first one.

Kushi just hoped she didn't call her name . She wanted the time to move fast but also liked this closure with Arnav sir deep within.

She called few names and scanned the room again till it landed on kushi and payal.

Surabhi di : Kushi and payal common

Ohhh.

They slowly started to pack their bag when she heard him.

Arnav sir : can you pass me some water.

She looked back to make sure he was talking to her and not anyone else.

He was staring directly at her.

But still she wanted to make sure ,

Kushi : are you asking me sir?

Arnav sir : do you think I have side eye ?

She quietly handed her bottle and watched him empty the half filled bottle effortlessly.

Arnav sir : Thanks !

Kushi : no problem !

She kept her bottle in her bag and stomped out of class . She just wanted one chance to slap this person tightly . Who does he think he is , After making her feel like non existent alien, now suddenly he is asking her for water as if nothing has ever happened , as if he is an almighty and everyone should dance according to his mood , no way Arnav sir , I can't let go so easily .
