chapter 17: embarrassing meeting

Kushi's POV

It was 6 pm and Arnav sir had already sent a zoom link in the WhatsApp group,
I quickly joined in . I made sure that my audio and video were off . There were only a few people who joined initially.

Arnav sir's camera was on , his hair was bit messy , unusual for him. He wore black T-shirt , but something was different . He wore specs which made his features extra hot.

He was writing down something in his notebook as more people joined the call.
I stared at the background of room. It might be his room , background was very simple with pastel colored walls. But there was a weird painting on the wall which caught my eye.

It was dark with crazy patterns on it, which was quite scary. Ravi sir also joined the meeting till then.

Ravi sir: Good morning all , so Arnav sir shall we start ?

Arnav sir : (looking up from his book) Good morning Ravi sir , let's start , I guess everyone joined. Turn on your camera's.

We did as said and parth started with his report. His topic was very interesting. As slowly everyone started presenting their reports , I felt scared and worried that my ppt was not as good as them.

When it was my turn to provide the report, I tried to be confident and was explaining my idea , but then ..

Ashok : arey dii , you got my room only or what , just go to your room no , I need my room now.

And at this moment I regretted having younger brother. I'm big idiot for not closing the door.

Everyone was staring from camera , I tried regain my self. I did hand gestures for my devil brother to get lost. But he is just dumbest person on earth. He straight away came towards me and started shaking my shoulder.

Ashok: now if you don't go , I will call mom. Wait a second . Is this my T-shirt you are wearing ? You always do this to me , you steal all my clothes. Enough is enough , now I can't take your harrasment anymore , I should get justice ...

At this moment I regretted being alive, on an instinct I slapped him. He did a dramatic cry and ran out calling for mom. I quickly closed the door. The embarrassment was beyond the words for me . And everything happened in such a fast sequence that I didn't think of switching off the camera.

I can hear the laughs of others and I didn't dare for sometime to look at the screen. My most shameful situation is being live broadcasted infront of my college mates . I wanted to jump out of window or vanish inside the bedsheet or just die of heart attack . Why me?

Ravi sir: (laughing) I can understand , connecting from home with naughty siblings is very difficult . Don't worry, we didn't see or hear anything . Right students?

One senior boy: yes yes! We did not hear you steal your brothers Clothes.

And another wave of laughter emerged making me about to cry loudly.

Ravi sir: don't worry Kushi ! It happens , do you want to continue now or do you want time?

I turned my hands to fist

Me: I will continue sir ( I just wanted to be done with this report , this meeting , so that I can murder my brother . I'm going to give him painful death for sure)

I looked at screen everyone were trying hold back their laughs , payal and parth too , clearly visible on their face.

I looked at Arnav sir , who was again writing something in his book and his right hand was covering his mouth. Is he laughing too? Im doomed...

I finished my ppt somehow , sir's didnt give feedback to anyone. Ravi sir said they will evaluate all ideas and come up with final few ideas where we can create a final report and budget to submit.

With that meeting ended and straight away I went to my bed , turned into a cocoon with blanket covering me and wanted to stay there forever.

It was now two days after our zoom meeting . Arnav sir has sent final few ideas on which we need to create a report. He has divided each part among us. We need to prepare our part of work for final report which needs to be submitted on second village trip which was going to happen next week.

A week passed by swift . I was too busy in studying and creating report that i skipped food , sleep and even taking bath sometime. I was still angry on Ashu and did not speak to him much. But, he anyway kept irritating me.

It was now the day of village trip. We all were supposed to meet at uni's front gate. I started my journey yesterday and reached uni at 7am.

I went straight to my droom and slept for an hour . Around 8 , started getting and got a call from payal that she reached Uni.

We all met at uni's front gate. Parth handed me a box and said to open only when we were having lunch.

I was too curious about what was there inside but didn't open. Ravi sir arrived by then.

Ravi sir: so i think all are here right?

Payal : no sir , i guess one senior is missing yet..

Me : (snickering looking towards payal) yes sir Akash is missing yet.

Payal widened her eyes and warned me.

I laughed , parth got confused and looked between me and payal.

Me: Parth , akash his payal's favorite senior.

Parth understood and joined me in teasing payal with our snickers. Payal just rolled her eyes at us.

In sometime Akash joined and payal's face lit up.

But Arnav sir was no where to be seen and we are about to get in bus. Someone asked about Arnav sir.

Ravi sir: Arnav sir has some work , he will join us directly in village.

Hearing Ravi sir , i felt small pang of disappointment inside. Why didn't he come with us ?. Its not like im interested to travel with him okay ..but.. but... Isn't it responsibility of teachers to take care of us ? .

I shook my head on my own thoughts and deep inside i know my reason of disappointment is not valid . But i dont want to accept it .
