The young girl was running through the woods, trying as hard as she could to stay quiet while she could still hear the loud banging of Coriolanus' rifle. She had the urge run back to him and hold him but he had betrayed her trust, he lied straight to her face without even batting an eye knowing how that made her feel and that could never be forgiven.Everyone has demons, deaths to there name. Hell even the purest souls did, even Lucy Gray. Her problem wasn't with his murders, it was with his lying. Perhaps if he had came clean they could have spoke through the problem but alas that didn't happen.
Being a teenager still, the young girl had no where to run too, she couldn't go back to the Covey. Surely not, that's too obvious and the girl isn't that naive to believe she wouldn't be found. So instead she laid low out in the forests outside of the broken electrical fences in district twelve and when the 11th Hunger Games Victor came on her victory tour the girl took her chance and took the train back with Mags, getting to know the other victor naturally they both bonded over their shared experience and became the best of friends.
Over the next few years every particle of Lucy Gray was erased from Panem, the footage of her games, her interview, her reaping, I mean it's like the girl never existed. And even if people did recognise her they would never mention it due to the Jaberjays lurking around the districts, you never know whose listening. No from now on the World only knew Mary Jane Gray, the widow of one of district fours best fishermen and also a single mother of 4 children.
in Mags massive house is where they all lived, the children's heights marked on the door. All of them on the family portrait on the wall, finally Lucy Gray got to have the big family she always dreamed of. It was her, Mags, Castor her oldest son , Cassiopeia her oldest daughter, Vela her youngest daughter and Leo her youngest son. One by one they all passed, reaped for the Hunger Games besides Leo. He was forced to grow up without his siblings, forced to watch them die on national television he was miserable until he met Daphne.
One by one Lucy Gray lost her big family she had always longed for, she had only herself, Mags and Leo left on the world until Leo and Daphne had children. They had three children and decided to carry on the star names, starting with Cygnus and then they had twins. Canopus and Lyra, they were inseparable. All three of them with only a three year age gap between Cygnus and the twins, so it hit them the hardest when poor Cygnus passed the same brutal way the rest of Lucy's relatives did.
It was a cruel joke, as if Snow knew she was alive and was simply tormenting her by killing her family and barely letting the family tree live on. It's like he was waiting for the perfect opportunity, and when Leo and Daphne died in a boating accident and she grew a stronger bond with her grandchildren than before is when he finally took his chance.
LEXI SPEAKS :
hey everyone! This chapter isn't very long but I might add on to it in the future as it's only 600 words but oh well this is only the prologue and I swear the rest of the chapters will be much longer if I actually end up finishing it. Like I said the updates won't be on a regular basis 😞
