The day after the bonfire Minho told me that we should take a break from the maze today. 

I tried to go tell Ben but I couldn't find him anywhere. 

Newt, have you seen Ben at all? I asked. 

Nope, Haven't seen him since this morning. Newt said. 

Okay. I said. 

Is everything okay? Newt asked. 

Yeah, I just need to tell him something. I said. 

HELP ME! I heard yelling. 

We all turned and saw what I thought was just a dream. 

Ben was attacking Thomas. The Ben that would always come up with the funniest jokes just to make us all laugh. 

Ben than tackled Thomas to the ground screaming at him. 

Newt than grabbed the shovel and hit Ben in the head with it. 

What do you think you doing? Newt asked. 

Alby than came by, as soon as Ben looked at him I saw the fear in his eyes. 

Lift his shirt. Alby said. 

Once they did we saw the stung on his stomach.

Okay put him in the pit. Alby said. 

Once they picked Ben up he was yelling and screaming.

Later that day I went by the pit and I saw Ben, he was worse. Black veins were all over his body. 

Ben it's me Paige. I said. 

Once Ben saw me he tried attacking but the cage of the pit held him back. 

Ben I just wanna know how you got stung do you remember anything before you got stung? I asked. 

I'm here because of Thomas. He said. 

What? I said. 

I'M HERE BECAUSE OF THOAMS, HE'S THE REASON WE'RE IN HERE! Ben yelled. 

Newt and the others than came by and took Ben out of the pit. 

I knew what was happening Ben was being banished to the Maze I couldn't stay and watch. 

I was near the woods, and I heard Ben's scream for help, It hurt me he was one of the first friends I made when I first came to the glade. 

Hey Paige. Chuck said. 

Hey. You okay? I asked. 

Yeah, It's just what happened to Ben, I guess I'm not used to when the change happens yet. I know you just have to forget about them. Chuck said. 

That's not true Chuck. We don't have to forget about them. They always gonna be here. But's it's okay for us to miss them. I said. 

Chuck than wrapped his arms around me. 

I hugged him back. No matter what happens I would always look out for Chuck no matter what.

Later that night  when everyone went to sleep well except me, I was sitting by the bone fire. 

Can't sleep? I heard Thomas  say. 

Yeah. same thing with you? I asked. 

Yeah, I just can't stop thinking what Ben said. He said this was all my fault. Thomas said. 

The change makes you see things sometimes. I said. 

What happens when you get stung? Thomas asked. 

You change, your body changes. You just don't stay you anymore. I said.

What do you mean? Thomas asked. 

You become something else. You become a hunter like the grievers. I said. 

That's what's in the maze? Thomas asked. 

you know you ask a lot of questions. I said. 

Sorry. Thomas said. 

No. it's fine but yes running in the maze in dangerous. Just promise me this Thomas no matter what stay out of there please. I said. 

Thomas nodded.
