"Did you know we're playing the Pens tonight?" Veda asked as she took a massive bite out of her sandwich. She was on break and she came home to entertain my extremely bored self.

"I totally forgot about that. Saad told me this morning. Sidney hasn't even called me," I mumbled.

"Wait, Saad was here?"

I looked up at her with furrowed brows, causing her to shrug defensively.

"I always thought you two would be perfect together," she giggled.

"I've got Sid. But even if I didn't, Saad's been cozying up to some chick named Juliette. I think they're pretty serious," I smiled up at her over the brim of my cup.

She rolled her eyes and took another bite, looking at her watch. "Oh shit, I gotta get out of here. Will you be at the game? Please tell me you'll be there."

"I'll be there, but I'm buying my own ticket and it will be behind the goal where the visitors shoot twice. I wanna see Sid up close as he scores on the Hawks," I smiled.

"Hey, what do you have against the Blackhawks?"

"Patrick Kane."

"You two are gonna make up! A two year friendship doesn't get thrown away by something so trivial!" She shouted as she opened the front door. Before I could respond, it was closed and I was alone again.

Thankfully, my phone rang, giving me something to be interested in. It was Sidney.

"Hello?"

"We haven't talked in like, a day. What's going on over there?"

"Over there? Sidney, you're in Chicago. Why didn't you tell me you'd be here? You said the Penguins wouldn't be playing the Hawks on the road trip."

"Ah yeah. I wanted to surprise you. I wasn't sure if you even looked at the scheduled games, so I thought...never mind. Seriously, how are you?"

"Turns out it was all Kane's fault. Dave just did everything he told him to do."

"You're kidding."

I shook my head, immediately realizing he couldn't see me. "I wish I was."

"You want me to check him into the boards? Rough him up a bit?"

That made me laugh out loud, something I didn't think I was capable of today. "Sid no. Please don't hurt yourself over this. Just win the game and come back to my place for a nice night, okay?"

"I like the sound of that. Will you be at the game?"

"Of course. I'll be behind the goal you shoot twice on."

"Great. Hey, we've got a two hour break coming up in about thirty minutes. Wanna hang out before the game?"

"That would be lovely. I'll be at the stadium."

"Sounds good. Bye Opal."

"Bye Sid."

I went to my room and slid on a maroon hoodie and a pair of jeans. I walked to the bathroom and decided not to bother with my hair, realizing Sidney wouldn't care what I looked like regardless.

After watching Netflix for a bit, it was time to go pick up my boyfriend. Finally.

"You're more beautiful than I remembered," Sidney smiled as he slid into the passenger seat, placing a quick kiss on my cheek.

"And you're not as tacky as I remember. Where's my boyfriend? The one with the terrible yellow crocs?" I laughed, looking down at his Nikes.

He rolled his eyes. "I realized I left them in Pittsburgh. Biggest mistake of my life. I may have to buy some while I'm here."

"Not if I have anything to do with it."

...

"This movie's making me sleepy," Sidney complained as we finished a cheesy LifeTime movie.

I reached over and rubbed a hand down his smooth face. He smiled and let his eyes flutter closed for a moment before popping them back open and sitting up.

"I wish you could stay," I whispered as he sat up and started putting on his shoes.

"We'll be together again tonight."

When we both got to the door, I pulled him into a deep kiss, pouting when he pulled away.

"I'll see you after the game," he said, running his thumb over my lips.

I gave his free hand one last squeeze and stood on the porch, watching as he jogged down to Geno who was parked at the end of the road waiting for him.

When he was gone, I went inside, trying to mentally prepare for my first game where I was allowed to cheer for the opposing team.
