The next morning, I woke up to a snoring Sidney. I looked over at the bedside clock. It was six and we had to be there at eight.

"Baby, wake up," I whispered in his ear.

He grumbled and stuck his face in the pillow.

"Wake up beautiful," I cooed.

He rolled over and smiled at me. I leaned down and kissed his lips lightly.

"Waking up this early sucks. You make it better though."

He got on top of me and kissed me repeatedly. I giggled as he ran his fingers through my tangled hair.

He slid off and walked into the bathroom and started the shower.

As he took a shower, I got dressed. I put on my black and golden polo and khaki pants. I put my hair in a neat ponytail and jogged downstairs to get breakfast ready.

When Sidney was dressed, he came downstairs to eat.

"I'm surprised you actually found something to make," he laughed as he ate his eggs.

"Believe me, it was not easy."

After we were finished, we got in the car and headed out.

When we got to the rink, Sidney and I kissed as we parted ways.

"Good morning, Opal," my boss smiled.

"Good morning Mr. Perrin," I smiled back.

He led me down each hallway, showing me everything in the process. After a while, he brought me to my coworkers.

"So you date Crosby, huh?" One of them asked as we sat down to eat lunch.

I smiled and nodded.

"He's so nice. How'd you two meet?" Another asked.

"I was at a club after the Blackhawks game and he was there," I explained.

"Sidney? At a club? Unheard of."

"I didn't think he'd be a party animal but he apparently gets down once in a while!" I laughed.

After a while, practice was over and we had to tend to the athletes.

"My back's really hurting," Sidney said in obvious pain.

"Here, lay down."

I helped him onto a table and lifted off his shirt. There was a huge purple bruise on his lower back.

"Oh my goodness Sidney, what happened?" I asked.

"I fell backwards over the door to the bench. It didn't start hurting until a few minutes ago."

I jogged and got some ice and a heat pack. I quickly put the bag of ice on his back. He winced in pain.

"Sorry babe," I apologized.

"So how'd you get along with the rest of the trainers?" He asked.

"Pretty good. They seem to be amazed at the fact that we met at a club."

He laughed and shook his head.

I pulled the ice from his back and put the heating pad in its place.

After an hour of massaging his back, he got up and gathered his things.

He gave me the keys and we left.

Later that night, his back started hurting again. I got him medicine and a round pillow. He laid face down on the floor with the pillow under his stomach, allowing his back to stretch out.

"Has this ever happened?" I asked as i massaged the area around the bruise.

"Yeah, it took a while to get over. Like three days or something."

I laughed. "Three days? That's a long time for you?"

"Yes!" He said defensively.

After we ate dinner, it was time for bed. I wasn't asleep for long.

"What's going on, baby?" I asked as I saw Sidney sitting on the foot of the bed.

"I can't sleep. It hurts so bad," he told me.

"Let's go to the doctor."

When we got to the hospital, they took him back immediately. I paced nervously in the waiting room.

After a while, a doctor came out.

"Good news, no broken bones. But his tissue is deeply bruised. I gave him meds that should take his pain away totally. I'm calling his coach tomorrow morning. He'll be out for at least a day," he told me.

"Thank you so much. Can I take him home now?"

When we got home, I had to help him up the stairs due to the medicine.

"When are you going in tomorrow?" He slurred.

"Noon. I'll call in and tell them I'm staying home with you."

"No, go to school."

I laughed. "Work babe. It's work."

"Oh, I'm sleepy, are you?" He said with a confused look.

"Yes, I'm very sleepy. Lay down."

I helped him under the covers and kissed his cheek. I was finally able to relax.
