Leonora Williams
"Nora," Margie poked her head into my office.
I looked up from a deposition, "Oh come in."
She sat across from me in one of the grey chairs, "What can I do for you?" I asked.
She sighed, "Nora, I heard." I took a deep breath, "Okay."
Margie made a weak smile, "We all care about you here,"
"I am well aware," I returned.
"Where's Kenny?" She asked. "Niall took him to work today. So, I could come to work."
"Work," She nodded, "I want you to go home."
I was stunned, I stopped shuffling the papers and looked at her, "Excuse me?"
"You need to go home, Nora. Look, I love having you here, you're the most reliant person I've got-"
"Am I fired?" I asked.
"No," Margie said, "But you are now on leave for the next two weeks. I wish it could be more but I wanted to do something for all your hardwork. I know that you hate pity so I am not pitying you. I am just giving you a well deserved vacation. You will be paid as well."
"Margie, I don't know what to say."
"Then, just say thank you and go home. If I was in your situation, I'd want to spend as much time with my child as possible."
"Thank you."
She stood up, "Now, go home. Get out of here."
. . . . .
It was about five thirty when I got home, Niall and Kenny would be back around 6. I grabbed out some pots and began cooking Kenny and Niall's favorite Alfredo pasta.
I went into my room and changed out of my dress and heels. I threw on a pair of charcoal joggers and a thin, grey hodded sweatshirt. I pulled my hair into a messy bun on top of my head, ;eaving a few pieces hanging in my face.
I went back out to the kitchen and finished cooking. At six ten, I heard the front door open and the tiny pitter patter of feet. I felt two arms wrap around my leg, I looked down to see Kenny latched onto my leg with a giant smile on his face. His nose was red from the cold. I bent down and picked him up, "Hi buddy."
"Mummy," He wrapped his arms around my neck, Niall came into the kitchen. He leaned against the wall and smiled as he watched us.
"Hi there."
"Howdy." I blushed.
"Mum, I had so much fun, today! Coach let me sit next to him on the bench and help him coach. I also met all the players!"
"I'm glad you had fun," I kissed his cool cheek, "How about you go put your coat in your room?"
He nodded, I sat him down and he ran to his room. I smiled as I watched him run off.
Niall put his hands on my hips and pulled my close. "I missed you."
I bit my lip, "I missed you as well."
He smirked as he pressed his lips to mine.
"EW!" Kenny wailed as I broke the kiss.
"I'll show you ew!" I grabbed him and licked the side of his face.
"MUM!"
. . . . .
Later that night after we had eaten, Kenny got in the tub and went to bed. Niall and I sat out of the balcony.
"Thank you for all your help." I said.
"No problem." I watched as he looked out onto the city. He noticed me staring, "What?"
I shook my head, "There's just something about you. The way you care for every else. The way your eyes light up when you smile. Niall Horan, I am utterly dazzled by you."
He chuckled, "Yeah, that's you. You make me care. You are the reason why my eyes light up, you are the reason why I smile, Nora. And it's cheesy."
"Very." I blushed.
"But it's the truth." my phone vibrated on the table, it was an unknown number.
I eyed Niall before answering, "hello?"
"Leonora?"
"Yes, who is this?" I asked.
The male voice sighed in relief, "I have been trying to contact you for years."
"Who is this?" I demanded. I stood up, waiting to hear who it was.
"Why didn't you tell me about him? You just left without telling me. Nora, he is my son as well!"
I took a deep breath, "Jax."
A/n: I thought it was time to throw yet another plot twist in! Anyway, sorry that I haven't updated in a while. But now I have!
