Chapter 5

Niall's POV

"Well, thank you for tonight I had a really nice time." Nora said as I helped carry Kenny's carseat. She held Kenny's hand. "I mean we, we had a really nice time. Huh Ken bear?" 

Kenny nodded. "T-thank you." 

"Your welcome bud." I winked at him. "Where would you like this?" I asked as we walked up to her house. 

"Oh, um here. I can-" "I got it." I smiled at her. 

She blushed, "Okay, um if you'll just set it in the car." She opened the door to her car. I nodded and sat it in there. Her car smelt just like her vanilla perfume. Oh gosh, I am smelling her car, what is wrong with me?

I closed the door. Nora smiled at me, "Walk me to the door?" She smiled. 

I nodded and followed her and Kenny up the steps to the door. 

"Thank you for everything," She smiled. 

"Of course. Thank you for coming." 

"I should put Kenny in, I'll be right back." Nora picked up Kenny. "Say bye Kenny."

He waved at me, "Bye bye."

I smiled at the little boy, "Bye Kenny, thank you for coming with me today."

He nodded. Nora slipped inside. I smiled to myself, it was perfect. Everything. 

Nora made me feel, I paused, happy again. 

My phone buzzed in my pocket, I answered it, "Hello?"

"Hey mate! How did the date go?" Louis's voice rang in my ear.

"Still on it Lou. And it's not a date." I said looking around, making sure no one heard. 

"Is that what she said or you?" He laughed. 

"Does it matter? I've gotta go" The door opened. 

"Is she cute-"

"Bye Louis." I hung up as Nora made her way outside, smiling. 

"Sorry, Kenny didn't want to let you go. He threw a huge fit, I apologize." She ran her tiny hand through her curly hair. 

"Oh its fine. I had fun." I said. 

"Me too. Well." She shrugged.

"Um, I hope this isn't to soon but I was wondering if you'd like to possibly go on a second date with me." I rubbed the back of my neck with my hand. 

She blushed, "Yeah, I'd love that."

"Tomorrow?" I asked. 

"Tomorrow." She echoed, "I'd love that. Sixish?"

"Yeah, I'll text you." I smiled, "Goodnight Nora."

"Night Niall." She smiled as she opened the door. 

Leonora's POV

"Well?" My mum smiled as I entered the kitchen.

"It was fun. Kenny had a great time." I smiled. 

"I put Kenny down a minute ago. The question is, Nora did you have a good time?" she smiled. I leaned against the counter were she was washing dishes. "Maybe a little. God, its been so long since I had fun."

"Nora." My mum said. 

"I mean, he was such a gentleman,"

"Nora." She repeated. 

"I think Kenny likes him." 

"Nora!" She yelled. 

"What?"

"I don't want you to trust him to easily. He doesn't know you and you don't know him." 

"Mum."

"I'm just being honest, Nora."

"He makes me happy!"

"What's going to happen when he figures out about Kenny? What then Nora? What man is going to want to be responsible for that kind of thing? And you just barely met the man." She washed off a red bowl. 

I shook my head, "Wow. Thanks mum. You know I actually felt alive and happy tonight. The first time in over six years. Six years, mum. I just want to be happy again and I feel like I can with Niall. He's a great guy and I know he won't-" I stopped myself. 

"He won't what? He won't care about Kenny's condition? Nora stop being so naive." My mum scoffed. 

"Well that's me I guess, Naive Nora. Unlike you mum, I care to see the best in people. Goodnight." I growled.
