Thomas's pov

NEXT" the bored attendant yelled as he lifted the thick rope to let another passenger in. I have been standing in line for over half an hour before I got to the front to the line to ride.

"The revolution" aka the newest ride in the theme park. "Ticket please" the attendant waited for me to pull out a single thin red slip.

"Second rider?" "no I'll be riding alone" I honestly felt awkward having to ride alone but my friends had ditched me around three o'clock and left the park.

" Sorry sir no single riders" the attendant pointed to the small read and white sign to the left of him. " Any other single riders?" The attendant or Samuel as his name tag read yelled. "Me"

A short hand quickly was thrust into the air and began to make its way towards the front. A short man with a tan complexion, slick long hair, and a clippings. T-shirt stood in front of him.

"Would you to like to ride together?" The attendant asked. "Why not" The man handed Samuel a thin slip like my own and entered the cart.

When we both were seated, the male turned to me "Alexander Hamilton, my friends call me Alex, nice to meet you " Alex spoke louder than you would expect from a small person. "T-thomas Jefferson, nice to meet you as well" I said quietly.

Suddenly the cart began its slow ascend to the top of the track. My heart pounded in my chest as thoughts raced through my mind. My grip on the handle bar had nearly turned my sun kissed skin to a pale white. "First time on a big roller coaster?"

Alexander chuckled. "No I'm usually always like this when I first g-ahhhhhhhhhh" I hadn't time to finish my sentence when the cart abruptly began its fast departure from the top.

Alexander and I were turned, whipped, spun, shoved, and threw through curls, loopy loops, barrel rolls and so much more in just the span of a few moments.

by the time the ride had finished, my heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. Both of us had a hard time recovering our breaths after the thrilling roller coaster had ended.

We waited patiently as Samuel once came around to unbuckle the yellows lap bars "That was erm....kind of fun I guess"

I preceded to stand up and exit the cart when a small hand grabbed my magenta jacket."Would you like to grab dinner after this I know this amazing little restaurant down the street"

I felt my slowing heartbeat began to rise again. An awkward layer of tension slowly arose between us. Neither of us could quite describe the thumping beats of our chests, neither could describe the erratic beating of hearts, neither  of us could describe the small voice in the back of our heads whispering soft murmurs of the future events that could take place.

I hated no no that's not the correct word envied how fast this man could instantly make my heart jump out of my chest like a jacket in a box. I hated it, it was overwhelming to say the least. It was a new feeling entirely.

I had barely even knew the short gentleman across from me, I knew nothing! for all I knew this man could be a serial killer! I couldn't go out with this man, not today, not ever. He would be my demise, the undoing of my unborn career. I couldn't let him stand in the way of what I wanted.
