Alexander pov
The beautiful human in front of me was too good to be true. His chocolate skin perfectly complimented his black afro. His sense of humor was on point, and that body.... it was sculpted by Zeus himself. I found himself even more infatuated with him with every sentence that left his perfect lips.
"I'm studying to be a veterinarian" Thomas said after a long silence. God he must be smart. "Why do you want to be a veterinarian?" I was genuinely curious to hear as to why this god wasn't modeling or performing somewhere.
" I've always been amazed by special bond between humans and animals. I've also always wanted to help people and why not help people by helping the ones who comfort us and are there for us even when it seems no one else will."
Thomas had a burning passion in his eyes. It was a need to help others. "Do you have any hobbies?" Thomas asked. " I love to cook, my mother taught me to before she...passed." Memories of my mother swirled though my brain like a tornado.
The sound of her last breath echoed in my head. The sounds of her cough before everything in my world got dark. The hurricane.. James. My breathing became uneven and ragged. My head felt as if I had been pushed under water, moments before drowning. "Alexander!?.....Alexander!?...shit"

I quickly jumped to my feet and crouched in front of alex. " Alex what are five things you can see" I asked. I remembered a few grounding techniques from middle school and hoped I remembered enough to help Alex though this.
"I can s-see you, my hands, the table c-cloth, Maria, and my i-iced tea" This was proving so far effective, lets see if I can calm him down all the way. " what are Four things you can touch?"
I am praying I can help him out " my jeans, y-your hands, the concrete, and my w-wristband." His breathing slowed ever so slightly. "Good, good what are three things you can hear"
I motioned for Maria to grab a glass of water before she came back again "My heart beat, music, and footsteps" he finally stopped stuttering as his breath slowly began to return to him.
"Almost there lexi... What are two things you can smell" It seems I remembered more than I thought from middle school " fabric softer and rice" he's doing so well
"almost there lexi just one left what's one thing you can taste" his breathing has lowered and his heart rate is just about normal "jalapenos"
"There really s-spicy, can I have some tea?" I chuckled and handed him a glass. What exactly caused his panic attack, I'll never know.
