(I miss watching Star episodes. Those were so cool and adorable to watch! However, I wished it had a different animation style than Gravity Falls. I feel like Owl House's style would benefit Star's series. Regardless, onto the next episode! Enjoy!)
Besides Randy, Star had a turn with the book. Randy felt much better about himself after his encounter with the Nomicon and Sensei Yamato. He knew what he had to do to improve and kept a balance between himself, being a hero, working with his friends, trying to win the heart of a girl clearly out of his league, and the Nomicon. Oh, and stopping the villains from awakening the chaotic being sealed behind a seal.
"Come on, I can handle anything you throw at me!" Star said determinedly as she faced Jay.
Star's issue was much different from Randy's as Jay sighed at her. He spun his nunchucks behind him as he tried to think of something to throw her off with. She was excitedly awaiting her teacher to fight her. He should try a different approach to confirm something.
"So, how did your date with Tom go?" Jay asked calmly as she slipped and hit the ground with a thud.
Jay nodded to himself and made his nunchucks disappear. He sat next to her as she sighed in defeat. She pulled her legs close to herself and remained quiet.
"Is it that obvious?" she asked sadly "We broke up"
Jay was surprised as he recalled some of the times she would talk about Tom to her.
He tapped his chin and asked "You paid attention to my advice didn't you?"
She nodded her head in agreement, "He didn't listen to me and wanted me to change. I don't want to. I have friends who do not want me to change either. I don't think I could be in a relationship where I have to change while others don't"
Jay just listened and understood.
"You know, one of the elemental masters of water is my wife" Jay spoke softly as he recalled the events, "We didn't always get along. In fact, we broke up. She didn't love all of me for me, and I didn't leave her alone. It took us a while, but when we did get back together. It took the both of us to do this. However, I also know that there are couples who do not belong together. She and I realized this we needed to do this"
Star looked at him with a stunned expression while he held a sad yet happy expression.
"Maybe you and him aren't meant to be, or you two need a break from each other" Jay said as he rubbed her back, "But not everything explodes if you ask me. There will be days where you and your emotions don't work together when things happen. However, if you share this you will be fine"
Star tilted her head in confusion as Jay laughed.
"Don't worry, it confused me too" he reassured her with a grin and stood up, "But that should be our lesson for the day! Have fun learning that!"
He snapped his fingers as the ground opened underneath her and took her out of the book. She woke up on the floor and gasped. She wiped the drool off her face as she blinked a couple of times.
"How am I supposed to understand this?" she wondered aloud as Lapis stepped down from the stairs with a glass of water.
"How did your lesson go?" she asked as she gave Star the glass.
"I think so" Star replied with a sigh before laying on the ground without spilling the water.
Lapis tilted her head as she then noticed the book was on the ground. She picked it up, closed it, and returned it to the stand.
"Do you want to talk about it? I've read that it is sometimes beneficial for someone to talk about their feelings instead of keeping it together" Lapis suggested as she sat next to Star.
