"Why did you come, Kevin?" Anna looked at the wall clock, which struck midnight, and then returned her gaze to Kevin.

"You can't say that you didn't miss me at all", he raised the seductive corner of his upper lip.

After a whole day, Anna was no longer in the mood for games.

"Listen to me carefully, Kevin...", she began sharply. "If you're going to play dumb and insult my intelligence, trust me, I'm not in the mood."

"Okay", Kevin said.

"Okay?" Anna repeated.

"I see you're distracted and tired. There's no point in talking now. I suggest we go home, get a good night's sleep, and then tomorrow we can lay all our cards on the table. This time I'm serious, Anna!" he looked at her despondently.

"Home???... You mean my home?" Anna raised her voice slightly.

"Sugar, there's no point in not continuing where we left off. We're a team, Anna, both privately and professionally. I messed up, I know! You had your little project for a month, and now it's time to go back home", Kevin said in one breath.

"Little project? Back home? You're sick!" Anna said, visibly annoyed.

Amanda intervened. "Kevin, please, today was exhausting. You won't achieve anything tonight. I suggest you have coffee and talk calmly tomorrow morning."

"I've been driving the whole damn day!" Kevin shouted. "It always has to be your way, Anna! This time, I won't allow it. You're coming back with me!"

The team shuffled around the table. Anna's blood pressure suddenly rose. Suddenly, she had a strong headache, and a buzzing in her ears. She felt pressure in her chest. Breathing was difficult.

"Anna, are you okay?" she heard Amanda, as if from a tunnel. She looked in Gabriel's direction, who was already on his feet, visibly concerned, and then returned her gaze to Kevin.

"I never want to see you again", she said quietly. The pulsation in her head became stronger and stronger. She felt like the 'Alien' was about to burst out of her.

"Sugar, forgive me!" Kevin approached her, touching her hand. At that moment, an unknown force threw him a meter into the air. He fell backward onto the adjacent table. Everyone around them jumped to their feet, visibly disturbed and confused.

Gabriel roared. "Get away from her!"

The last thing she saw was his golden eyes.

"I'm not sure; I think I managed to remove everything", a male whisper could be heard.

"Do whatever is necessary and call whoever is needed, just help her", Gabriel quietly said.

"These things don't happen every day. There's a reason it's forbidden. I assume that it was done to her intentionally, while she was still very young. Perhaps for protection", a male voice said.

"We'll find out", Gabriel said quietly. "Thanks for everything; you can go."

"You can open your eyes now", Gabriel said calmly. "I know you're awake. How do you feel?"

She slowly opened her eyes. She was in her bed. Gabriel sat beside her, holding her hand. Anna withdrew her hand from his and placed it under the covers.

Gabriel warmly observed her. "How do you feel?" he repeated.

Anna sighed. "Rested," she smiled. "What happened?"

"What's the last thing you remember?"

Anna shifted. "I remember Kevin. Oh God, Kevin!"

"It's okay; he bruised a few ribs, but everything else is okay. He's more confused than hurt. You did well in rejecting him", Gabriel laughed.
