A wedding is supposed to be the happiest day of a woman's life. For me, my wedding was the one day I was dreading more than anything. I awoke in the morning to find my maids, who had run a rose-petal bath for me and had my dress patiently waiting for me once I got out. I put on my dress that was picked out for me.

The dress had a white, sleeveless top with pearl designs. The skirt was long and flowy. At least this dress was breathable. My hair was put up in a neat half-up-half-down hair style, decorated with flowers. My maids handed me a small bouquet filled with white and yellow flowers to match the ones in my hair. I never liked white or yellow all that much. Just then, a flash of purple appeared in the corner of my eye.

I slipped the flowers out of my hair and replaced them with the purple roses from the vase. I threw the bouquet in the trash and got some ribbon to tie a bundle of the remaining roses into a make-shift bouquet. I pulled out some small white flowers from the other bouquet and placed them in the new one to fill in the extra space in the bouquet.

I quickly checked the outside of my room for maids, surprised to find no one there. I ran to my father's study where he was preparing everything with Ryker's parents. I opened the door, granting me looks from all three of them. "My maids told me to come in here to wait once I was finished with getting ready."I stated, not changing my facial expressions.

"Oh, my. You look stunning."His mom said, placing her hands over her mouth. "Yes, yes. Now, why did your maids tell you to wait in here? I swear, no good help these days is there?"My father marched off to the direction of my room, closely followed by Ryker's parents. I saw the cups of tea, waiting perfectly on the table. I saw the one closest to my father's seat. I pulled the small vile from my dress pocket and poured it into his drink.

I walked out of the room, meeting the three of them in the hallway. "Your maids will tell you the proper place to go when you get back to your room."Father said, as if it were rehearsed. I just nodded, knowing I would not be listening to them.

I did arrive back in my room, but I told all of my maids to leave the room. I pulled out the box of letters and took it with me when I slipped out of my room and eventually the front door, careful not to be seen. Before I made my way all the way out of the door, I grabbed my cloak and slipped it over me.

I made my way to the estate planner's personal office. I knew for a fact that I would be the only person who could inherit the house. With that information, I started writing my will. "Everything will go to the Solanne family. They get the house, the fortune, the servants. They get everything, including these."I stated, placing the box of letters in front of there. I had also written two new letters and added them to the collection.

The first letter was just a copy of the letter my father took, wanting to have the set without the lingering feeling of there being one missing. The second was a letter explaining why I was about to do what I was about to do.

I didn't think much that day. I couldn't think much because if I did I would have convinced myself that it wasn't worth it. I would have convinced myself that suffering for the rest of my life was a better option than death.

When I left there, I made my way back up to the bridge down the road from my house. I took off my cloak and placed it neatly on the edge of the bridge.

I looked down to the bottom of the small creek below. It was a fairly long drop to the bottom. I didn't want to die thinking of that though. I looked up to the sun seeping out between the varied shade of green from the trees. The birds flying above.

I wish I was a bird. Birds don't have any responsibilies. Birds don't have to worry about arranged marriages and murders of the love of their life. They got to fly. They were truly free. No, not free. They were just disconnected from the rest of the world.

If I am reincarnated I want to come back as a bird. Humans are incredibly tiring and selfish. Most animals are just concerned about surviving. Humans want to survive too, but they also want something that no animal could have. They want to not only survive, but live.

That was a privilege I never got. Alex was the closest thing to living I ever got. He gave me hope things would turn out alright, that not all of us were doomed to suffer eternally.

He was wrong. He was taken from me and I'll never get him back in this life. Why did he have to go? Why did he have to be taken?

I climbed to stand on the edge, right next to my cloak. I stretched out my arms and I flew...
