"Fontaine!" I hear Finn say over the call. I see Fontaine roll her eyes slightly.
"Hi Finn." She looks over at me with a small smile, and I smile back. He seems nice enough. Although the only thing I've heard him say is 'Fontaine'. Maybe he's only nice to her.
"So, why'd you call? You miss me that much?" I can practically hear his smile. Fontaine rolls her eyes.
"No. My new friend was wondering who you were, so I decided to call you." She turns the iPad towards me, and I freeze up a little. "Say hello to Y/N."
The boy on the screen was very different to who I imagined. Well, maybe not very different but still, different none the less. He had blue eyes and brown hair. One of his ears was pierced and he was wearing a singlet with an...I don't actually know, an octopus maybe?
"Hi Y/N. It's nice to meet you. I'm Finn." I nod and wave then look at Fontaine. She laughed a little and turned the iPad back to her. Then she sat on her bed and patted the spot next to her.
"So, Finn." Fontaine started saying as I sat down next to her. "What else would you like to say to Y/N?" Finn pauses for a second. Then he opens his mouth and-
"Y/N! I have your book!" Ant barges into the room and then looks between Fontaine and me. Then his eyes dart to the iPad Fontaine is holding. He gasps, rather dramatically mind you, then he points a finger at Fontaine. "You're talking to Smiling Finn!"
"So what!" Fontaine says. As she stands up, she places the iPad on her bed. I grab it and prop it up on some pillows then decide to look back to Ant and Fontaine.
"So he's a pirate!" Ant says loudly, throwing his arms into the air.
I chuckle a little and look at the screen. Looks like Finn also finds this amusing.
"Sorry to interrupt." Ant and Fontaine look over at me. "But I would like my book back please." I hold out my hand with a small smile on my face. Ant chucks it over to me and I catch it, which is surprising because usually I can't catch to save my life.
"Ant, out of my room." Fontaine says pointing towards the door. Ant pokes his tongue out at her then leaves.
I laugh a little before opening my book. Only three pages left in it. I'm going to need a new book soon.
"Exactly how many stories do you have in there?" Fontaine asks as she sits back down on the bed.
I shrug. "Not sure. A lot of it's just rambling from when I was on my own. Learning how to pilot a sub, the electricity being annoying. Y'know that stuff." I look at the iPad to see Finn smiling. "What?" I ask. Fontaine looks at Finn too.
"Don't mind him. He's always like that." She says laughing.
"Well, I was actually going to ask something." Finn says. He looks at me. "Are all those stories really yours?" I nod. "Why did you start writing them?"
"I'm not really sure. I got bored one day and decided that doing something was better than staring at the steering wheel of the Bubble. That's my sub by the way." He nods.
"Fontaine, Y/N please come to the bridge." We hear Kaiko's voice over the communicators and I stand.
"Talk later Finn." Fontaine says as she hangs up.
We both walk to the bridge. Kaiko informs us that we are at Fictions place and that we will need to leave the sub. I think Fontaine would have been allowed to stay but she doesn't want it to seem like she didn't trust me. I was okay with it though. I wanted to go back to my own sub.
~~~
Welp, I have to stay with the nektons. Turns out the Bubble needs a lot of work. Like a lot. Fictions letting me grab all my things, and Fontaine has offered to help out. I don't have a lot of stuff. I was always worried Bubble would sink or something. And if she did, I'd be left with nothing. I mean. I basically grabbed all my stuff when I first went on the Arronax. Yeah. Not a lot of stuff at all. I really only had like two or three old and boring books and a couple of clothes left. My pop however, he had a lot of stuff I didn't want to leave behind. His old maps, his books decoding lost languages, some pendant with our 'symbol' on it.
"What's that?" Fontaine asks.
"A pendant. My pop kept it locked away when it wasn't on his person." I say turning toward her. "This is the first time I'm seeing it properly." I look down at the pendant. It was silver and had a small jellyfish in the center of it. So that's what our symbol is. I never knew that because the old man never let me see it.
"Ah. I see." She's walked next to me now. "And is that your family symbol? A jellyfish?" She asks as she points towards it.
I nod and then place it around my neck.
When we're done, we walk back to the Arronax to put everything in what is now my room. I look around. It's about the same size as Fontaines. And is definitely bigger than my old room.
Not wanting to be there anymore I walk onto the bridge where everyone is waiting.
"We're about to set sail Y/N." Kaiko looks at me with a small smile. "We have a couple things we need to do. For instance..." She slowly starts talking.
"You want to know why I know about Lemuria?" I ask quietly. Great. Now I feel like I'm being interrogated.
A/N: Yes, two new chapters. I honestly can't believe I've managed to make it this far. I'll need to know if anyone reading this wants it to be a romance type of thing before I continue. If I get the urge to write, then I will make the decision for myself.
I have two ideas, one for a romance and one for just a self-insert. So just be sure to let me know what on you want before, I dunno, a week from now. That should be plenty of time for everyone to decide.
