A few days go by,
Penny and Sam were still across the pond in the United States. They were last in Los Angeles with Station 118 and the CFD in Chicago. Now, the Husband and Wife are in Austin, Texas before heading to New York and then flying back to the UK. They arrived at the Fire Station numbered 126. The crews were busy cleaning their vehicles as part of their daily routine when they saw Sam and Penny arrive. "Look alive, 126!! The Hero Next Door is in the Building!!" One of the Firefighters called.
"Haha!! Yeehaw!! Morning, Sam. Good to see you. How's the crew?" Captain Owen Strand asked.
"Owen... You would never believe this if I told you... It's been a great time in Pontypandy."
"Glad to hear it. I see you brought Penny with you. How's she doing?"
"Captain Strand, I'm doing well. Apart from our flight which my new husband fell asleep on my shoulder for the flight until snacks came by." Penny replied with a smile on her face.
"Really? New husband. Eh? You two married?"
"Come on, Cap. We are. Just got married about a month ago. We're on our honeymoon across America after visiting the 118 in Los Angeles. Captain Nash and Sergeant Grant were among the best first responders in Los Angeles to hang out with." Sam replied.
"Who do we have, Cap?" One of the firefighters asked.
"Guys, Penny and Sam are here with us. They decided with Homeland Security, Fire Administration, Headquarters, and APD (Austin Police Department) that they're joining us on some calls."
"A new team, Owen?" Sam asked.
"Had to rebuild after the 126 lost most of their crew at a massive Fire."
"So... Your crew is more... Inclusive."
"After a mess with the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, Yes."
"So... Mind if you introduce us to the 126?"
"Not at all. I am honored. Uh... We have... The Probie: Mateo Chavez. He was last sent to the United States by his parents. As a result, he enrolled in a program set by the U.S. Government. Since then, he remained at the 126. But... Mateo told me that he has Dyslexia. Yet, they still kept him on the front lines. Over here, we have Paul Strickland who was last working for Boden and the Chicago Fire Department. I promised him a Salary raise and I upheld that promise. I'll tell you more about him later. Next, we have EMS 126 Paramedics Nancy Gillian and Captain Michelle Blake. Standing right by the Ladder Truck are firefighter Judd Ryder who's my second in command and Marjan Marwani... Better known to her Instagram followers as "Firefox". Marjan is known for her stunts like the one in Miami. 11 Reprimands in a Single Year for Insubordination or Reckless Behavior with Miami Fire and Rescue."
"So, I see."
"Judd is actually married to a 9-1-1 Dispatcher. Grace Ryder."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Oh, I almost forgot. This is my son T.K. He was with me on Engine 252 in New York City and was also a dual-functioning Fire Department Medic in Manhattan."
"Ah... No wonder the FDNY has ambulances."
"Anyway. We're glad you came to the 126. Nice to have you here."
"Thank you. Oh, and Judd. Thanks for the vote promoting Arnold to Union President in the Fire Brigades Union."
"No sweat, Sam. A lot has changed and he does have a lot of courage to stick by the rules and the Law. But, he does know when it is right to forget about what the books say. The one thing to do is... Go with your gut." Judd replied.
