A few days after receiving their Hogwarts letters, Cassie and Draco found themselves stepping out of the cool, shadowed halls of Gringotts and into the bustling chaos of Diagon Alley. The cobblestone streets were alive with witches and wizards, the scent of fresh parchment and potions mingling with the hum of excitement. Narcissa and Aurie walked alongside them, each of them keeping a watchful eye on the cousins as they navigated the busy lanes.

Aurie checked her watch, a slight frown of impatience crossing her face. "Right, we've got a lot to do and not much time. Take out your lists, kids—we've got to get this done quickly. Ministry business calls."

Cassie pulled out her letter with a flick of her wrist, waving it like a flag. "I'm ready. Let's do this," she muttered, already imagining all the shopping to come. Draco mirrored her action, the smug look on his face already in place.

"Same here," Draco said with an almost predatory grin.

Aurie eyed the lists quickly, her gaze flicking between the two cousins. "Alright, here's the game plan: Narcissa and I will tackle your books and cauldrons. You two are in charge of uniforms and wands. Understood?"

Cassie and Draco exchanged a look, the mutual understanding clear. "Fine by me," Cassie said, slipping the letter into her pocket. "Let's go."

With a final nod from Aurie, they were off, heading toward Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.

The bell above the door jingled as they entered Madam Malkin's shop, and the rich, floral scent of lavender greeted them. The woman behind the counter, dressed in mauve robes, looked up with a smile, her eyes scanning the newcomers.

"Hogwarts, dears?" she asked, her voice polite but sharp, as though she could already tell the answer.

"Yes," Cassie and Draco said in unison.

"Right this way, then," Madam Malkin said with a welcoming gesture. "Let's get you both fitted."

Cassie took her place on one of the small stools, staying still as the woman began to pin fabric around her with skilled hands. She leaned back, letting her mind wander, until the sound of the door jingling again caught her attention.

She turned her head and caught sight of a boy entering the shop, about their age, with messy black hair and bright green eyes hidden behind glasses held together with tape. He hesitated as he stepped toward Madam Malkin, who led him to stand next to Draco.
