Chapter 12: Treatment

Issei flew back to the castle with Celestia unconscious in his arms. He had already instructed the physicians to be ready when he returned as he had a feeling she was going to need medical attention immediately. The moment he landed in front of his castle doors, the physicians rushed over to assess the situation and get her the right treatment. Upon seeing the state of the princess, they quickly told a servant to call for an experienced healer as they were going to need their help with this. They instructed the king to follow them quickly as they led the way to the medical building where he laid her down on a bed and stepped back to let the professionals take over. As soon as he had, they got to work and the other Lovelies rushed over upon hearing the news that she had been found. They all gathered around Issei and began asking questions about what happened and if she was going to be alright. He smiled a gentle but strained smile when he told his Lovelies that she had been tortured pretty badly but the bastards that did this to her have been dealt with. Amber suggested he go wash up and she will wait for news of Celestia's condition while he does. He knew she had a point and probably looked a mess from everything that happened so he obliged and went to go clean up.

Meanwhile, Dae had gone to Celestia's room to grab some clothes for her to change into after the healers and medical staff were done patching her up. Upon entering her room, however, she noticed that the door to her balcony was open and there was already an outfit on the bed with a new ring next to it that looked just like the one Sir had given to all of the lovelies for protection. Seeing the ring, she relaxed as she knew that Issei was the one who had just been here and picked out an outfit. Grabbing the outfit and ring, she searched the drawers for some undergarments and then proceeded to close the balcony doors before heading back down to the medical building where Amber was sitting in the waiting room still waiting for news.

"Are they finished? Did they have any good news, Amber?" Dae asked, setting down the clothes she had brought down. Amber nodded her head slightly and sighed before speaking up. "The healer said they managed to stop the bleeding but she has lost a lot of blood and needs to rest. Her physical injuries should heal nicely but the wound on her hip fractured the bone so she will need to stay in bed for a few days at the bare minimum so it can heal and there might be some scarring from all the injuries that we were not able to heal completely as they had already scarred over. We will need to make sure she gets plenty of rest and nutrition as she has lost a considerable amount of weight as well from the lack of food."

King Issei returned as she finished explaining what the healer had told her. The Lovelies looked at their King and saw that he still looked enraged at the monsters that did this to someone he cherishes. Turning to Dae, he asked "Dae, darling, do you have a moment? There is something I need to ask you about." She nodded and asked Amber to stay with Celestia while she followed Issei to another room.

"I'm going to take a guess and say the reason you asked me specifically is because it has something to do with her mark, doesn't it, Sir?" Dae asked to which he nodded.

"Yes. I'm sure you noticed it when I brought her in but her mark has changed. Before all of this, it was a simple crescent moon but now there's a star in it. It glowed and changed the moment I picked her up in my arms after tearing apart those monsters that put her in this state" he explained to which she nodded and pulled out the book she had been reading about the history of the Purvanian Royal Family. She used her magic to flip through the pages until she landed on the page that mentioned the birthmark.

"According to this, once every few thousand years, a princess is born with a crescent moon mark on her chest that will glow and change when she meets the one person who will love and protect her. The one person with whom she trusts completely and deeply cares about. Did she say anything when you rescued her?"

"She thanked me and called me Sir just like you Lovelies do. I do not know where she heard me being called that. But it was after she said that and I kissed her forehead that the mark glowed brighter and then changed" he recalled.

Nodding thoughtfully, Dae spoke up "I see. This means she has deep feelings for you and trusts you. You did search for her the entire time she was missing and came to her rescue the moment you had a solid lead. To be honest, if it were one of us in her shoes, we likely would not have held on for as long as she did. She really is resilient and trusts you, Sir."
