Coral stared at the mangled remains of the student in front of him. That was close, too close. It stared down at its bloodied hands, only realising he was trembling slightly. He couldn't keep this up. He knew it. Yet he was already too far gone, countless times he had killed, just to keep this dark secret, as the weight of guilt piled and piled into an overwhelming tower. It was only a matter of time before it would all spiral down, crashing onto the ground.

He wiped across his forehead, taking long breaths. He needed to clean this up. It'll be fine. He's done this many times before.

  "Coral?..."

It whipped its head around, staring back into the cerulean blue eyes of fear.

  Fuck.

Taylor wished this was a dream. Really, they did. But then how could he so vividly feel his heart pull over and breath hitch when he stared back at Coral? He could feel the contents of his guts trying to climb out of the pit where they should be and hurl themselves onto the floor in front of them. He felt sick.

The air around them only thickened by tenfold when both of them stood motionless, time losing its meaning as they were locked in a staredown.

  "I-I-I- I can e-explain-"

He raised his hands up, as if he was already prepared to be arrested.

Taylor didn't move. Not even batting an eye.

  He froze.

Coral slowly neared him, hands still up.

  Breathe Taylor, breathe.

  Breathe.

  "Look, I won't hurt you, I-I-"

  "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

Coral stumbled back, astonished. In the two years he had known Taylor, never had he shouted so loudly and angrily like that. Much less towards him.

The younger boy was shaking violently. His breaths were more like a wheeze. His lungs ached as he desperately tried to take deep breaths. He could hear his heart pounding and feel his head swirl and cold sweat coursing down the surface of his trembling skin.

  "I- I didn't want to-"

  "No, n-no. I can't- I-"

  "Just breathe, I'll explain everyth-"

"You've explained ENOUGH," Taylor growled, anger taking over, yet still shaking like a frightened child.

  Coral again, tried stepping nearer.

  He was approaching.

  Run.

  Run.

He can't remember what was happening any more. Everything is happening too fast, all he knows, he's bolting down the corridor as fast as his legs will take him. They didn't know if they were being followed. Just run.

His vision started to fade in and out.

All the sounds around him blurred themselves.

  It went dark.
