Mysterious Power

Chapter 9

         I changed the topic after I saved Liz from falling. I just wanted her to forget about it. I wish this didn't happen, but I couldn't let my best friend fall. She was like a sister to me. If she knew, she would be in danger. I couldn't let that happen. I didn't want her to be in the hospital for weeks. The rock could've gone in her head through her brain or something. I already hate my life and lost everyone close to me. I can't lose her.

           We walked to school without talking. I think she was still thinking about it. When we reached, I saw Kevin with his friends in the corner. He looked at my eyes with big eyes filled with sadness. To get Liz back, I slapped her, not hard but hard enough to bring her back. "Heyyy, what was that for?"

          "What, I've never seen you this quiet before. The whole time, you were not talking."

     "Well, how did you carry me like that? It all happened in a second. I was about to fall, but you came beneath me in less than a second. That rock was about to hit me. But when you were on the ground, didn't that rock hit you? Shan, I don't get this." I tried to call Kevin over here to save me from these questions. He finally saw me, and headed our way.

         "What is going on? Is everything okay?" Kevin asked us even though he knew everything that just happened. He could hear everything and can read minds like Edward in Twilight. Except this is real, but dangerous. Bella didn't die, but I know I will. Her father wasn't a part of it, but my father is. Her mom was in Florida, my mother was murdered. There was a happy ending, but here it won't be happy.

       Liz told him everything about this morning. How I saved her from that rock and didn't even get hurt. I looked down at the ground, trying not to look at his eyes. Thank god, the bell rang right after she finished the story. I was glad, but wait...we have all the classes together. He can scold me anywhere anytime.
