"Well I'm tired" Jimin stood and stretched as the credits rolled. "That was pretty good. Thought it would be scarier though""It was alright" Taehyung shrugged as he stood as well. "You leaving?" He wasn't sure if he wanted Jimin to leave, he acted as a sort of buffer between him and Jungkook.
"Yep. I should get back to my own room before it gets too late"
"Alright. I'll text you tomorrow"
Taehyung held the door open for him as he walked out, before he could close the door Jimin held it "talk to him." He whispered
"I will" he whispered back. As he turned he bit his lip thinking of a way to start this conversation that was looming over them.
Jungkook had left his bed and now was on his own side of the room, organizing his desk. Taehyung noticed the clothes he was wearing couldn't be his. They looked to large on his frame, especially the shirt that looked like it was swallowing him. He averted his gaze to his face when Jungkook glanced back at him over his shoulder.
"I think we should talk"
Taehyung startled at his request. He figured he would be the one to ask for a conversation, considering their interactions in the past 2 months.
"Alright" he sat down at his own desk and gave him his full attention. Would Jungkook finally reveal how he knew him? Butterflies floated around in his stomach, and not in a good way.
"Umm" Jungkook took a seat before he started. "I first would like to apologize for my outburst last night." He decided before, that he should apologize to him for the previous night. Taehyung had been authentic and seemed worried for him, so, he decided it was best to start with an apology. "I'm sorry."
"Oh," taehyung felt a little taken aback "that's fine" Jungkook was looking down at his fingers, it seemed that he refused to meet his eyes, Taehyung didn't like that. "You're ok though?"
"Mhmm" he nodded along, feeling awkward about the situation already. He knew the others question would soon come up so he readied himself for it. He still hadn't decided if he was going to lie or tell Taehyung the truth.
"Do you.." Taehyung shifted in his seat before continuing. A cold sweat started to form on his temple, he really didn't want to hear that he had been someone negative in Jungkooks past. "Do you know me?" Jungkook fidgeted too. He still didn't look at him and instead seemed to have his eyes honed in on his lap.
"Before, did you know me before? What you said last night and I've been thinking it for awhile, with the way you act towards me. We knew each other, right?"
He swallowed the lump forming in his throat. He picked at the sweats he had borrowed from Namjoon, a nervous habit he couldn't kick. "I'm not sure..I.." how are you supposed to tell your abuser who they are to you? "Yes" his own eyes widening at his confirmation.
"Oh"
"Did you hit your head?" Jungkook scolded himself inside, he hadn't meant to ask that out loud.
"What?"
"You really don't remember me?"
"No. I'm sorry" Taehyung felt sick.
So, he was right. His existence had been so small, so insignificant to Taehyung that even after months of living together Taehyung still had no idea what he did to him, for two years even. Two years they had known each other, two years of not wanting to get out of bed in the morning, of contemplating just ending his life for the sake of peace.
Noticing Jungkooks expression, he started to panic, just when it seemed he was making progress he ruined it again.
"It's not what you're thinking. I admit I was not a good person when I was younger, I hurt people just for the hell of it and if you were one of those people I'm truly sorry Jungkook. Back then, I didn't care much about anyone else other than myself, names and faces of others I didn't bother with." Jungkook nodded along, his reasoning made sense, but that didn't lessen all the years of pain he was put through.
