Anna sat on an armchair, reading one of her books and minding her business. She could hear the girls talking amongst themselves, trying to ignore their annoying voices.

Before long Anna glanced up from her book, rather annoyed. She began to watch the group of girls who were speaking so loudly she couldn't think. She was about to say something to them when a boy's voice rang out.

"Would you three shut your mouths for ten minutes?"

Anna looked toward the boy standing in the entry to the common room. He was a black haired boy, he had slightly pale skin and gray eyes. He was slim and bore an annoyed look as he eyeballed the girls.

"Oh sod off, Black!" One of the girls sneered.

Black, must be the boy's last name. Anna thought.

"Leventhil, watch yourself." He growled back.

"I think I'm fine." She snarled.

Anna cleared her throat, catching the attention of the four Slytherins.

"If you four could either kindly shut up, take this somewhere else, or split ways so I can study, it would be much appreciated." Anna gave them a passive aggressive smile that matched her tone.

The boy spoke again. "Finally someone who understands the sentiment."

"Actually, 'Black', you're being equally a disruption as they are." Anna spoke nonchalantly as she looked back at her book.

The other girls were grumbling as they made their way to their dorms. Black on the other hand stepped further in the room and he sat across from Anna.

"You're the exchange student, yes?" He asked.

"Yes." Anna responded exasperatedly.

"Hm. Sorry to have met you in such unfavorable circumstances. I'm Regulus Black." He spoke confidently.

"Anna Fehlter." She responded making it clear she wanted to read.

"You realize, the study of vampires doesn't come til fourth year?" Regulus spoke leaning back in his seat.

Anna snapped her book shut and glared at the boy.

"What do you not understand about not talking to someone when they're reading?" She spoke lowly.

"Oh, I understand it very well. I just don't care." Regulus responded.

"Well, princess," Anna growled. "I don't care for your high and mighty attitude. So, Verpiss dich!"

Regulus gave an amused grin. "I don't speak German."

"Dann lerne es." Anna responded.

Regulus simply tilted his head to the right. "You'll have to translate that for me."

Anna rolled her eyes and opened her book again, cursing in German.

"'Dan lerneh es'... That sounds like Dan learn us, but with context, did you happen to say, 'then learn it?'" Regulus gave a smug grin. "Or am I wrong?"

Anna glared at him over the book. "Go find out."

Regulus scoffed, "It would be so much easier for you to tell me. I like to learn you know."

Anna rolled her eyes yet again and went back to her book in attempt to ignore him.

"If you're so annoyed miss Fehlter, why don't you go to your dorm?" Regulus spoke.

"Maybe I am not one to run away from my problems, is that so common here?" She jabbed at him in annoyance.

Regulus chuckled, "Are all Durmstrang students as feisty as you?"

"No," Anna began.

"So it's just you?" Regulus interrupted.

"You didn't let me finish." Anna growled.

"Then finish." He growled back.

"I am actually rather calm compared to my peers. Durmstrang is carefully selected, for the best students, and is a place for work not friendship. The fact that all of us know that makes our school superior."

"So, you have no friends and everyone picks on you but you have the best grades?" Regulus grinned.

"I have friends." Anna hissed.

"Name one." Regulus challenged.

"Jack." She replied.

"I said friend not boyfriend." Regulus retorted.

"He's not my boyfriend, he's more of a brother." Anna retaliated.

"Sure." Regulus replied, "I don't understand, why would you want a brother anyway?"

"They're nice to have around." She sighed as she looked at her book again.

"They're bothersome, that's what they are." He countered.

"They're both, honestly." Anna said with a chuckle.

"Ah, look at that, she does know happiness, or amusement at least." Regulus commented.

"So, the boy this school sent to Durmstrang." Anna began.

"Oh, Liam Jordanson. A right idiot that one. They should have chosen someone more clever, but Dumbledore favors Gryffindor. So we couldn't expect anything else." Regulus sneered.

"I see, you know. I wonder if my peers at Durmstrang feel the same about me." She spoke her thoughts.

"Why would they?" Regulus replied.

"Professor Karkaroff is my uncle so they all assume he favors me and lets me do what I please. Really, he's harder on me. I know it's because he wants me to succeed, but it is still annoying." Anna shrugged.

"Oh, I see." Regulus was mildly surprised. "Do you think he maybe sent you here so he no longer had to deal with you?"

"Plauseable," Anna looked back at the boy, "but unlikely."

"Which year are you in?" Regulus asked.

"Third, and you?" Anna replied.

"Second, hey, my brother is a third year. Gryffindor, his name is Sirius. He's a right arsehole, and his friends aren't much better if I'm honest." Regulus' tone was conflicting, it seemed as if he were trying to help her but there was also some kind of deceit in it too.

"I'll keep that in mind." Anna replied.

"And because you're a Slytherin, you'll have a few classes with him. Gryffindor and Slytherin are usually paired together in classes." He continued.

"Danke, Regulus." Anna sounded exasperated.

"Thank you?" Regulus guessed.

"Ja." Anna looked at her book yet again.

"See, you're already teaching me German." Regulus smiled, "Well, I'm going to bed then, Bonne nuit."

"Gut Nacht." Anna replied. She watched Regulus walk off.

He's French, of course he's French. Why are they always French, I either get along with them or don't. I mean look at Jack, sure he's in Durmstrang, but his Mama is German.

Anna thought as she stared at the book.

Why am I still thinking about him? This is stupid, I should focus on Arithmancy.

She read a couple paragraphs of the textbook and someone walked over.

"Miss Fehlter?" A girl's voice asked.

Anna looked over. "Ja?"

"I am Fiona, the girls prefect." She introduced herself. "Do you know where your dorm is?"

"Nein, I do not." Anna replied.

"Alright, follow me then." Fiona began to walk off.

Anna closed her book and followed, her mind drifted back to Regulus.

Something tells me he will keep showing up... Seems like I may have to befriend his brother to get him to leave me alone.
